I think the best 2 teams today for that game was ( LSU / OK.ST. ).

Man they need a playoff system. that will never happen but thats what needs to happen.

Just what are they thinkin :think2: / BIG MONEY > who will bring the BIG MONEY.

this whole subject is getting real old.its been going on since november when it was brought out that they may meet again if things fell into place.if these other teams just went out and won their games like alabama and lsu did then they would be there meaning okla.st,but no they lost to lowly iowa st and thats the bottom line.they knew what they had to do and failed to do it.i don't care if they beat okla.by 100-0,they still lose to iowa st,a game they should have won, they were a 28.5 point fav,and lost.

alabama and lsu deserve to be there to finally settle the score.nobody really liked the last game they played against each other and this time it will be different and all the talk will be over.if lsu hangs it on alabama then congrats to them and vise versa to alabama, but who ever is better will have to go after it in a different and flashier way to satisify everyone out there bitching about this rematch.

so get over it people, these two teams did what they had to do and the others didn't

damit let them play already

im with you 100% hot air man
ill bet bama but i wont watch it i wont
ill watch every other bowl game and boycott this one. i think its just miserable! the bcs just have top 4 playoff in three diff bowls.
im not trying to rile bama fans either but they could have easily won the first game.if they had a kicker, 4 missed fgs nice kicker
or didnt do a wr end around pass on lsu 25 stupidest play of the year esp in tight game like that. bama didnt even play in a conference champ game is it me or is this a joke of a system?

i agree with you about okie state losing to iowastate i have never liked that team
i disagree with you about bama going out and did what they had to do that is so false they lost to lsu they had their chance kick a fg
these are the two best defenses in nation i dont think anyone is denying that
lsu will not run the ball be able to run bs bama the way they it did vs ark and ga.
alabama didnt get style pts from me with 24-7 win over miss state and what about 45-21 vs (aa) ga southern that was close at half
give me a break
ill be rooting for bama anyways all the general public people who dont know will be all over lsu

You make a valid point that Oklahoma St. had their chance and didn't do what they had to do. But one could use a similar argument by saying Alabama has already had their chance to prove they are the best team but lost 9-6 on their home field to LSU. So, why should they get a 2nd chance when other teams are not given that same chance?

WW,like i said the system is not perfect and if oklahoma st went on to be undefeated like everyone even myself thought they would they would be playing against lsu.the voters and etc believed that since okla.st lost and alabama also had one loss that alabama was the better team.the bowl system has never been to satisify us people, its all about money, but just cause im a bama fan im not just saying this but i believe alabama would beat okla.st just because of defense.okla.st is great on offense and alabama is great on defense but as theey say great defenses shut down great offenses and alabamas offense would do just enough to win the game.

none of us are ever going to be happy until they develop a system that is fair and that is why i didn't respond back to the other guys here as im not about to argue over something none of us have control of

good luck on whatever you do

I totally agree with you that the system sucks and Im not saying Alabama doesn't belong. Personally, the BCS is such a joke I really don't care. I was just pointing out that Ok State fans can use a similar argument.

I'd like to see Okla. St vs LSU much more than a repeat of Ala-LSU but lets face the betting line on LSU-Ala is -110-110 they are the the 2 best teams. If Okla. St. was LSU's opponent LSU would be anywhere from a 6 pt to a 9 pt. favorite.

A rematch in these games is no real treat to the fans but the system they have now is far better than in the old days.
As I recall when Billy Cannon won the Heisman his Heisman moment was a long run against Mississippi for a 7-0 win.
They rated teams in those days after the last game of the season and LSU was rated #1. They played each other in a bowl game that year and in the rematch Mississippi beat LSU easily but LSU was still national champion. Not really fair!!!

I think it was 1976 when Pitt was #1 with Matt Cavanaugh & Tony Dorsett, so they had the pick of which bowl they wanted to go to. To ensure there #1 rating they went to a bowl that Georgia was already involved in because of the conference involvement, instead of playing a more highly ranked team. They won easily an retained the #1 rating.

This system can be improved on but its far better than in the old days. The only #1 vs #2 bowl game I can remember
before the BCS was Navy-Texas after the '63 season.

To the knowledgable CFB fan, the two best teams this year easily are Alabama and LSU.

There's not a close third.
