i am taking you bet the dutch squad?....those were pretty brutal calls...but at the end of the day they were going nowhere,,,as a fact, now they r going back to europa league cuz of the goal differential...that's got to be a kick in the sack
Don't do it, not worth spending your time reading that crap imo. Pretty weak book....(match fixing in soccer is def. going on and also during european cup competitions, but I mostly in qualification matches...Declan has been talking lots of crap too, guy is just out their for publicity and to make a quick coin, but not giving anything close to a real inside look into the black market in Asia...)Thanks, will check it out.

Why would you fix that match with Real playing their substitutes and without anything to play for, while Ajax was playing for the knockout stages? Easier/better spots to get a fix working
big 10, it's way more prevalent in lower leagues around europe...you do get your rogue refs that can't escape the lure of a big payday in some of the bigger competitions ala WC or CL...but if you ever have access to catch a serie B in Italy or maybe a 2nd or 3rd division match in Russia you will realize who is running the show....i can assure you the Camorra's word and the Russian mobs influence completely outweigh the proper football authorities in each country
You are correct. It was just 2 blantant calls on goals that were absolutely horrible.
Was watching Declan Hill interviews on youtube and the question I have is, how do these Asian syndicates bet 2.8M on an exact score. I mean who takes that kind of action?
Makes it the perfect scenario don't you think? Don't know the numbers or what the spread was, but here is case where everyone thinks Ajax will roll, right?
You get inflated odds your way, yes. But you also get a motivated home team playing a team mainly consisting out of substitutes...also way easier to roll over some players on a club other than Real Madrid because Real and their players stood to lose way more than let's say a player from B68 Toftir from Iceland...
And if you wanted to fix that Ajax game because of different reasons (influence who advances), you would also have to fix the other match, so that they 7 goal difference was egalised (what actually was accomplished). Still looks more like some bad calls and a rather unlikely outcome in the end to me, but doesn't scream "fix" like f.e. a certain cup game from Cyprus this week....
