This guy has injuries all over the place on his body from broken fingers busted ankles.. . Looks like he is DOWN for the SEASON after being helping limping like a cripple off the field !! comes back in the SAME game and throws 70 yrd strike to Brown

He has to be at this time the toughest player in the game now

UNREAL he is truly UNIQUE among players

I made the same comment at the bar today. Wasn't watching the game, was playing pool. My buddy says "Ben just left the game with a bad ankle injury". I said "That fucker is tough. He'll be back". Sure as shit... Say what you want about him but he's probably the most durable player to ever set foot on an NFL field.

Guys, an NFL running back takes the most punishment on the field each game. A durable guy like L. Tomlinson or someone like that has to be considered way more durable than an NFL QB.

I totally dislike Ben the person, but he's got to be the toughest man in the game today.
Toughest guy I ever saw play was Earl Campbell.

I was lucky enough that my dad had season tickets for the Oilers when Earl played here. He's my favorite player ever. I still remember the MNF game against the Dolphins like it happened yesterday. Best game I've ever been to.

For the record, I like Big Ben but there are two ways to look at this statement.

1. Big Ben IS the toughest player in the league because he is always playing through injuries.

OR

2. Big Ben is NOT the toughest player in the league because he is seemingly always injured.

Can't think of a tougher QB in the game at this time.............or who would even be a close second, Phillip Rivers takes a beating game in and game out and keeps on ticking(but plays poorly at times because of it).

The top three QB's in the league.........BRADY, BREES, and RODGERS seldom take hard hits like Rivers or Ben because all three have decent offensive lines.

As far as Ben being toughest player in the NFL, as mentioned earlier, it would probably have to go to someone at another position, probably a running back like Enfuego stated earlier in this thread............not sure who that would be at this time though......................but even so, Big Ben has to be considered in the group of discussion for toughest player.

There are quite a few cornerbacks also that are tough sonsofbitches also.............. talking about the one's that can actually make tackles effectively and often(the Charles Woodson types for example).

Amazing what a good tape job and shot can do at halftime these days.

Although running backs take more hits, they rarely take big hits coming from their blindside like Roethlisberger deals with. How many normal tackles and wear and tear equate to one massive pop from a guy running full speed that you don't see coming?

True, and receivers that consistantly catch balls over the middle can possibly be considered tougher than most running backs.................the Steelers own HINES WARD comes to mind...................DONALD DRIVER is another receiver that has made a living catching balls across the middle and is seldom injured and/or played effectively through numerous aches and pains.

Another guy one would have to put on this list is linebacker RAY LEWIS......................
