Oak, I speak to Ron occasionally, and we send each other emails. I went to Vegas with a friend of mine just to bet his GOY. I remember going to Circus-Circus the Friday night before the game and trying to guess which game would be the GOY.
Turned out that year it was Indiana, and somehow Vegas got the news before anyone else and the line started moving before the game was given out to the public. I was putting bets in for a friend of mine after we called our local back home. We got the line at -4.5 while in Vegas it had jumped to -6. Went to the RIO about an hour later, and the game was up to -9. I begged my friend to loan me some money to bet the other side, but he wouldn't do it because he said it would jinx his other bet. Needless to say, the game fell on -6. Doc claimed it as a win, but in most places it was a push or even a loss.
As far as I know, Doc, Morey Moseman, is still alive unless he passed away recently.
