Yep
I was not meaning to be unduly teasing with my first post in this thread
The seemingly well-intentioned "health insurance" system in our country has created two extremely disparate pricing tiers for Americans who want any kind of pharmaceutical drugs.
Due to the federal government's granting of monopoly status to a literal handful of legal drug dealers, those Americans who have a paid insurance plan will usually pay anywhere from 4 to 10x (or more) less than those Americans who do not.
There are numerous legitimate drug producers and distributors who operate outside the USA that would be more than willing to supply that second tier of consumers with much more affordable drugs, but they are barred from doing business within the USA.
Smart thinking consumers are of course actively working to peaceably circumvent those laws by simply ordering their products via online channels and/or purchasing the drugs in foreign countries (Canada, Mexico, Central America most common) and smuggling them home via a variety of methods. But they do so at risk of being charged with federal felonies.
