packers still about -4 against pittsburgh or baltimore.there is really no other threat except new england and id have to say they would give the pats about 6.5 with how bad the pats defense is.now i know green bays defense is nothing to write home about but their offense is just to powerful

I'm not so sure that the AFC winner will be the Patriots as their defense is very questionable and seems to be getting thinner every game. The Ravens, Steelers, Jets and the Texans all have very good defenses if healthy.

I was seeing NFC - 4.5 solid prior to the Packer loss. My thoughts were that most of that spread was due to the Packers awesome season. Now as their injuries are piling up and their defense is looking thin, the line will slowly go down. I will check out the Hilton later today most likely.

Saints or pack would both give 4pts plus to any AFC team.

I would be curious what a 9ers vs Pitts (with ben healthy) or Ravens line would be. I bet close to pk em, or maybe -2 with the AFC being the favorite.

I have the NFC at 5 and nothing is happening

Both Packers and Saints have plenty of offense but right now only the 49 ' ers seem to have the kind of defense it takes to win a Super Bowl. I would take AFC +5 if I had a chance ! I can remember when I saw a 13 point switch in the point spread just because of one huge upset in the playoffs. I was in Reno, Nevada in 1991 and the NFC was about a 7 point favorite over the AFC. The expected matchup was the 49'ers verses the Bills. The Giants stunned the 49'ers in the Conference Championship game on a late field goal and the line switched quickly to making the Bills a 6 point favorite over the Giants as I recall. I had a lot of futures on the Bills to win the super Bowl and I took the Giants plus the points in the SB game. I was about to win all my bets when the Bills winning 47 yard kick by Norwood went wide rt. by about 2 feet. Lines can change quickly with just one upset.

Well my hunch was correct. I just left the Hilton and the line had dropped to NFC - 3.5

You just have top make the NFC a 7 or so point favorite. Considering the Niners, the Saints and especially the Packers. Anything less than 7 I would say you were getting value

bc the nfc is just so much better IMO

pitt and balt do nothing for me....pats have no defense...and they are by far the best team....if they get knocked out which is a realistic possibility the line IMO should be much higher

even if its GB v NE id make the line 6 and id be nervious as all hell taking the pats with 6

Yeah, good post. But what are the chances of the Saints or Packers not making the Super bowl? The whole thing is do you think the cream will rise to the top in the NFC.

Like I said already, the 49 'ers are the only NFC team that seems to have the great defense. 49'ers verses Steelers line ? Steelers just might even be favored !

Last year at this time, nobody was figuring the Packers were going to win the Super Bowl. As a matter of fact, very few people even thought that they would make the playoffs. This year everyone is talking about how poor the Patriots defense is but the fact remains that the Packers and Patriots are tied as both have given up 297 points and the Saints are even worse having given up 306 points. Meanwhile the 49'ers have yielded only a stingy 185 points. So who's to say which team is actually the cream ?

As I just noted, the Packers defense has given up exactly the same amount of points as the Patriots ... 297 each ! So much for the huge advantqage for the Packers !
