In the last 3 years, I've had 3 moving violations and 3 accidents.... Edit: Purpose of this thread, before I got long winded, was to ask your opinion on PROGRESSIVE SNAP SHOT? I heard is drastically lowers your insurance and think it will be a good for someone like me? Whats your thoughts? Do you no anything about it?

Before that, 0 accidents and only "claim" on my car insurance was window replacements (3 times, twice broken into once a cracked windshield)

I got in my first accident when I was trying to leave a small crowded parking lot. There was a guy illegally parked behind me but I thought I had enough room to get out... I was wrong and got a piece of his car ##)##) I track him down and give him my insurance info

Funny part about that, is dudes license plate read: defiant. mine reads defying. strange huh

Then, 1 week later, someone hits me in the SAME EXACT SPOT on my car and LEAVES. :boxer: I have to file it.

In the same year, I was driving to pick up a friend down country roads. This driveway is like a mile long and their branches down everywhere as we just had 30mph strong winds day before.. My little coupe gets it's front fender beat up by STICKS. :ohno:Again I file a claim.. I should of just paid out of pocket...

After all this, My car insurance, state farm, who had me as a premium member meaning paid a low rate, they completely dropped me. I had to go to Farmers Insurance where I pay $250 a month for insurance 2.5x what I was paying, $1800 more a year!... And I only drive 10k miles a year!

Well in May, ALL the traffic violations will be off my record, and I am going to be car insurance shopping. I am really considering the Progressive Snapshot to get the huge discounts. I know I am good driver. I rarely speed, don't break hard ect...

What do you know about it? Is it worth it? No anyone with is? Looking for any information about it.

I'm using it now and the most I'll save is $82 over six months. To me that is nothing. Check with your insurance agent but the max you'll save won't be much. And I had the car parked most of the time so that should tell you something.

What!? Is it because your insurance is already rather low and you have "proven" you are a good driver already with your driving record?

You know what? I just checked Progressive's site and it's telling me that I'll be saving $237, so it's definitely worth it.

Look at my stats:

Weekly Trip Averages Log

Factor Your Weekly Avg. Last 7 days Difference Total high risk driving time (hr:min:sec) 00:00:00 00:00:00 00:00:00

Miles driven 33.67 89.4 55.73

Number of hard brakes 3.67 7 3.33

Good Info.. pulled from the link you gave me

How does it work?
After enrolling in the program, you’ll receive a Snapshot device in the mail within 10 days, including instructions on how to install it into your car. After the device is installed, it collects data on three different aspects of your driving:
  • Time of day
  • Miles driven
  • Number of “hard brakes”
After using the device for at least 30 days, Progressive may give you a discount up to 30% based on your driving report, which you can access via your Progressive account online. Once your policy renews, your discount is finalized.

I wonder how hard it is to get the max discount. It says 30% then it says 25%... If I could get 25% I would save $760 a year, about $60 a month
