Maybe depress is the wrong word but think about it. One of the greatest qbs of all time doesn't play(Peyton Manning) which not only robs us of seeing some nice highlights but killed a lot of blockbuster matchups like Colts vs Pats, vs Ravens etc.

Then you got Cutler and the Bears doing great and Cutler goes down. Houston was exciting this year and looking dominant(although they've still been having success with the qbs out)

Cassel was injured as KC was picking things up.

I know you still have Brady, Roders, even Eli and Romo putting on a show. You got the circus with that wannabe qb Tebow adding some intrigue. So it's not all bad but I really miss seeing Peyton out there. Doesn't seem the same without him.

Injuries are part of the game, so I'm used to that.
What I'm not used to is the piss poor "enforcement of all the recent rule changes. Never seen so many drives extended by ticky-tacky calls by officials. Game after game so many times. It's come to the point where a defensive player has to over think to avoid contact with the QB. DB's can barely breathe on a receiver anymore without being called for interference, holding, etc. From a viewers standpoint, it's not near as entertaining because too often the"new school" enforcement by the officials dictates a plays outcome instead of the players talent.
Just last night, on the winning Colts drive the Texans defensive lineman gets blocked into the Colts QB feet, and they call roughing the passer. WTF

It's actually the first year in recent memory that I'm enjoying watching my hometown team the Lions. I've been a season ticket holder for years and its finally fun to go to Ford Field. In the past the only enjoyment I could have going to the games was betting on the visitors to crush us so at least I could make some money and going to greektown casino pregame and throwing the dice.
It's going to be so great to see the lions back in the playoffs, even though a 1st round matchup at New Orleans will be brutal.

Yeah, it's been brutal. I've seen what should have been sacks to the qb getting big gains because the rusher was too tentative and worried about getting a roughing the passer penalty called. I get why you have to protect the qb or else the league suffers but it's getting ridiculous now.

Also, they are so trigger happy when it comes to calling pass interference on the defense but for against the offense they get away with so much crap. Refs have been terrible this year. It's a difficult job I understand that but still. Wow.

I have been a Cowboys fan all of my life but the last few years I have kind of soured on them. I still root for them but I don't get upset when they lose and hell I probably have only watched half of the games this year.

Actually picked up a new team that I root for and that would be the Bengals. Andy Dalton is one of my favorite TCU players of all time and I have kind of adopted the Bengals as my 2nd team. Hell actually I have watched more of them this year than the Cowboys. If Dalton can keep progressing, him to AJ Green could be really special for years to come.

Bengals have always been one of my faves. It's funny how they went from being one of the more disliked and mocked teams to a much more respected team this season. Dalton is a big part of that. They've been struggling recently but nevertheless. People were predicting for them to be on if the worst teams in the league before the season started.
