Amazing how one loss can totally destroy you psychologically and you end up chasing. I am sick damn it. Anyone got any gambling success stories to cheer me up?

Souns like a session of craps or blackjack

Nope. Today I had $3000, I lost the rest in NFL. I had made all the money on the NBA. I don't know why I football since it's a horrible sport for me to bet on and win.

How much did you win?

if ur talking to me i ran account up to 1400 but was getting tired of grinding things out and was starting a new job, so i put $600 on creighton vs saint joes and lost. told myself id take the $800 out, buy something nice and take a week or 2 off, well before i could even withdraw i found myself betting $800 on kansas once sullinger was confirmed out. The bet won easily, but i felt like shit for chasing and not just cashing out. i took $800 out after that and have left the profits sitting in my account untouched since then. once you get past 3 days or so without doing something u normally do (yet still have the ability to do so), i think the cravings or desire disappears alot.

Evidence that gambling is a disease? Or maybe you lost $3000 just because you're an idiot.

Just one man's opinion.

Ok fair enough but yeah, I should have taken the money out at least $2k would have been nice but with all the hassle taking out money I wanted to wait to have more before I took out.

Today the Giants clinched the following for me

1. Office Pool came down to the final game and I needed Giants to cover. They did and I won the whole thing apprx 2k
2. Put a future bet on Giants at 2-1 to win NFC east a few weeks back and hit it
3. 500 to win 454 on Giants-3

Not bragging at all just sharing bc you asked for some good win stories

You will get hot again and be right back where you need to be

I turned 500 into 6800 in a week. Albeit most of that was on a 5 game 6.5 teaser in the NFL. That was 2800 right there. The rest I won on NHL. It's awesome. Done it before too many times.

I think the problem with you is(don't mind me if I offend you I don't mean to) once you get upto a big balance you start to feel invincible and greedy. You have more so you bet more. You're thinking, hey I turned 300 into 3000 why not 3000 into 30000! You're probably on a high at that point. So maybe just take a step back and after a deep breath compose yourself.

As for the problem with chasing and getting obsessed after one loss even though you might have won like 5 in a row, it's just will power and discipline dude. You just have to tell yourself that you aren't going to let it rattle you and that you will take the loss and get back to it tomorrow. Not tonight on the last game. Not on the halftime bet on the late game, or the first thing you can bet on tomorrow. When you see a good bet or are at least over that loss and feeling of wanting to get it back right away, then go ahead and make your next bet. It's all will power.

I didn't think to myself, wow, I turned 500 into 6800, I'm going to go big and try to turn it into 25000 or something because it's house money anyways. No. That's my 6800 at this point and I am not going to give it back making stupid bets trying to hit a jackpot.

Okay here's your bright side....each and every one of us has turned a little pot into a huge balance. A few hundred into 5000 or more. My best was 250 into 8000 in 3 weeks. We've all done it and we will all do it again. It's what you do with it that counts. Don't get complacent or reckless when you have lots of money to throw around in your offshore account.

More good news. How long does it really take to turn a few hundred into a few thousand? Not long at all dude. You have 500. You bet a couple of safe faves in NBA to turn 500 into 900. Now you take that 900 and wait for a solid halftime bet. Like Bulls vs Clippers the other day. That was an easy choice for me. Clippers were shooting like 60 percent at the half but were down by 1 or 2 points I think. The clear choice was Bulls at only .5 2nd half. You can go all in if you want or half in and now you are at say almost 2g? You take the Redwings at home when rested even if they are -200 and go all in and now you got 3000. There you go. A few hundred into 3000 in like 2 or 3 days(yes I just read out an example of what I actually did haha. Not the exact numbers but you get the point)

I'm busy with stuff but I will look you up if you want in a week or so and I'll start a thread. We'll turn 500 into 5000 no problem. I'll post my tickets and plays. It'll be fun. Cheer up. There will always be games to bet on and money is always abundant(even if not for some, as we just discussed, it doesn't take much to make a lot.)

That's my rambling while on my way to getting more drunk.. Take care man.

HAhaha good one. And I do play games once in a while. I just recently played the new Zelda but that was the first game since Resident Evil 5.

Good advice. Play Madden or COD online. It's very addictive and fun.

As for gambling being a disease I don't think so. I think it's the addictive gene some people have. My friend gets addicted to everything he does. Working out, video games, gambling, even certain people, certain places, we hit the clubs and he can never just have one drink and chill like the rest of us, etc It's just a gene some people have which makes them get addicted easily to things. Just try to use will power. Go for a walk or exercise when you get a compulsive need to bet when you shouldn't

I turned $100 into 16k from july '10 to oct largely due to baseball/tennis. It disappeared during football/basketball season. A lot of narrow losses (half point to 2 points) did it, kind of like this year's bowl season.

It has been all downhill since then and haven't sniffed the same type of success. It should cheer you up that it was only 3k compared to what happened to me lol.
