Less than 24 hours after a loss to the San Francisco 49ers cemented a dismal 2-14 season, the St. Louis Rams have fired head coach Steve Spagnuolo, Fox Sports insider and NFL Network contributor Jay Glazer reported.

Not long after Spagnuolo's firing, a league source told NFL Network's Michael Lombardi that the Rams also fired general manager Billy Devaney. Devaney went 12-52 in his four years as the Rams' GM.

Spagnuolo and the Rams came within one win from a playoff berth last year -- his second season as the Rams' head coach -- but the team fell apart this season amid a slew of injuries and uninspired performances.

The Rams ended the year on a seven-game losing streaks as speculation swirled that Spagnuolo would be let go at the end of the season.

Spagnuolo went 10-38 in his three years with the Rams.

Would like to see him return to the Eagles as defensive coordinator...

Great fit as Eagles DC.

I like Spags.......Not real sure what went wrong there in St Louis......thought they turned a corner last year.
Bringing in McDaniels did nothing to help that offense and the development of Sam Bradford though. Appears they listened to McDaniels on draft day too as they tried to draft a TE (Much like Belechik drafting AH & Gronk?) and two slot WR's cut out of the Wes Welker mold, when they already had Amendola. Didnt make much sense to me.
