If you were Andrew Luck... What would you want to happen?
I was really surprised by his comments to ESPN.. Ok well the way he said it.... it's clear he doesn't want to be Peytons back up.

What do you do if you are him?

If I am Andrew Luck, I would LOVE to be Peyton Mannings back up for a couple years. 1. the money is going to stay the same regardless if I am a backup or not because of the new CBA.

2. You are learning from an All time great who basically revolutionized the sport. This is like being a talented artist and turning down to study behind (insert whoever is most famous living artist) ... Yes you may have all the tools to be great, but to learn from Peyton will be a once in a lifetime opportunity.

I would take it in a heart beat. People say that Colts offense with Manning is by far the most complicated in the NFL. If you master that, you master everything.

I was surprised by his comments....

Lets not forget, He turned down leaving school last year.

If he really felt that being a backup was that awful he should of came out last year.. Carolina would of drafted him and he would of started from day 1 like Cam did. If starting was that important to him, he couldn't had a much better spot than Carolina to start. A good OL, great running back and Steve Smith to throw into.

I thought he returned to get better.... and if that was the case he should want to study under Peyton

I would fuck as many hot chicks as I could before either I was a bust, eternal backup, or injured.

Doesn't matter who's coaching you; there's only one way to learn how to play QB and that's to play. He also might realize that he's in trouble playing for the Colts' horrible offense.

Another dandy thread. It was clear pre-draft that they were not going to be on the same team. Even Archie Manning said that pre draft. The Packers wasted time by not putting in Aaron Rodgers until finally they knew what they had so tried to do same thing that colts did. The Packers basically wasted Rodgers rookie contract. Yeah lets sit the best prospect to come along in over 10 years. That would just be making an emotional decision and not rational. Like when you see signs at the stadium "my child's life was saved at Peyton Manning's children's hospital" The hospitals not going anywhere.

He has THE worst surrounding cast of any QB left in the PO. 1 #1 WR, that's it, no running game.

Yeah, let's give him Lacey, Nelson & Cobb, or Murray, & Dez!! Plus that OL of the Boys.

One thing totally absent in the OP is that Manning would never want Luck as his backup. Working his way back from 4 neck surgeries on a patchwork Colts team and then having to look over his shoulder at Luck. That scenario just wouldn't have come about.

Now I know where defyings hatred of luck comes from. Defying is still pissed off about luck not coming out early and have cam instead of luck.

Now I get it
It all makes sense now

I don't blame him. Colts are so lucky. Manning could have easily been a Jet and Luck easily a Panther. I don't see Manning living in New York though. Not really his style. Probably factored why he came back.

Oakland had the #1 pick the year Peyton was a junior in college.
Oakland then traded the #1 to St Louis and St Louis selected Orlando Pace.

Oakland messing up in the draft going all the way back to 1997. Pace ended up being 1 of the best tackles in history.
