Creating jobs is a top priority.
As part of the Obama administration's new summer jobs program, the USDA is pledging to hire more than 7,000 low-income youth, according to POLITICO Pro's Patrick Reis and Darius Dixon.
The program aims to provide at least 100,000 paid jobs and internships this year. In addition to the USDA, the Interior Department is also hiring under the program.
Some 12,000 low-income teens will have the opportunity to spend the summer working on "public land restoration and enhancement," Reis and Dixon write.
Another summer of recovery. All is well.
