Adopting a greyhound

I am looking into adopting a greyhound and was wondering if anybody has one, and what has been your experience with the new dog?

My nephew has 3 Greyhounds now.

They are Great Dogs, but a little shy. Takes time for them to figure out to climb stairs, very Lovable dogs.

I know he keeps them in a Cage when Not home long periods of time.
I like must dogs, you can't feed them crap. ( much people food )

Greyhounds are great dogs.

They do need a lot of exercise, and special care in very hot, and very cold temperatures.

Like BAS said, they tend to be on they shy side.
Though this is mostly because of their mis-treatment at the dog tracks ##)

I don't know how you define mis-treatment. I only hope you aren't trying to advance all the lies that anti greyhound racing people put out there. Especially when it was on the ballot in MA. T

My GF wants to everytime she sees one at any adoption program.. . I wish we had the time for another animal or we would.

Been doing the research and found a great guidebook, Adopt A Greyhound Guide. Sounds like we just need to go to some meet-n-greets to find the right one for our home. We rescued two kittens a few years ago, so we need to make sure everybody gets along. I have only read and heard positive things about greyhounds.

Dante, I even found a Steelers coat for him/her.

The Dogs don't mind it, but the Cats are another story. After a while they got use to them though.
