I rather have Teeth Pulled then a Root canal.... but it also depends on how many Canals they are doing ?? 2 or 3 ? These are Levels......

I get Gas when getting most Dental work done......

I was gonna just have the tooth pulled, but figured I'm only 26 and don't want to start pulling teeth out yet haha. The two that are getting pulled are wisdom teeth, guess they don't matter much.

Just getting regular novacane, no gas.... No insurance and way too expensive!

As far as the root canal I have no idea of the levels. The doc did mention it's a 3 part process, that has to be done on 3 different trips.

Don't eat for at least 18 hours before you go in........

This must irritate the hell out of your dentist, right?

A friend of mine had 4 root canals & 4 teeth pulled all at the same time/same day after being put under. The best part is that 3 months later he pulled one of the teeth himself that had a root canal done it. I told him later that he was nuts/crazy,LOL.

Root canals are nothing these days. Getting wisdom teeth pulled is a little uncomfortable for a few days, with lots of bleeding, but not too bad. Get your dentist to hook you up with a bottle of vics and you will be fine.

Yeah from what everyone seems to say, it's almost painless nowadays.
Its amazing the advancements they've made over the years.

This younger bum will let you know Friday how everything goes!

Hoping I can sleep it off over the weekend.

I know it's kind of a stubborn way, but I don't take medicine unless it's for an infection.
All medicines do is mask the pain, which everyone is capable of doing mentally without any sort of chemical pill.

I'm 29, had all 4 wisdom teeth pulled last year at same time. Im also a puss about dental work, but honestly it wasn't that bad. The anxiety I put myself through was much worse than the procedure itself. Last thing I remember the doc pulled the tape off my arm and apologized because of the hair on my arms, I said the tape is the last thing I'm worried about and she said that's the worst part. Then I was out and woke up without wisdom teeth. Slept a few hours and was up watching the masters that afternoon, the soreness is the worst part, just keep popping the vicoden and you'll be fine.....GL man, don't stress yourself out about it too much

I've had three teeth pulled before and haven't felt a single bit of pain. Forget the root canal; way more money than an extraction.

I am 43 and I still have all my wisdom teeth and have only had X-rays and cleanings. Never had a cavity and only brush once a day. It is one of the things I still have going for me.

I had a root canal done and a tooth capped about a month ago. Never felt a thing. Just tell the dentist to put a lot of numbing gel in your mouth before thay give you the pain killing shots. The dentist gave me three pain killing shots before the root canal and I never felt the shots and never felt a thing during the whole procedure. Even after the shots wore off I never had any pain. Never even had to take the Vicodin he prescribed.

Well I got back from my root canal. I got the numbing gel and the Novocaine shots. The shots hurt a little bit but it didn't last long.

During the root canal the dentist used this really slow-moving drill. Not one of those annoying fast-speed drills.

The dentist said I had a lot of infection and that was blocking the Novocaine from accessing the root so a couple times when he put the drill down there it hurt. Not excruciating pain but it hurt just the same. So he put some Novocaine directly on the root. He drilled a couple more times and it hurt a little bit again. After that I didn't feel a thing.

I have to go back to get the cap put on. I have a temporary covering because I have to give it some time for the infection to get healed. So I got a prescription for amoxicillin and Vicodin. It's been about an hour since the root canal and the numbness has worn off and I don't feel a thing. I'll give it a little more time to see if I need any painkillers.
