I say yes ! LSU was not only 13-0, they had played the top rated Strength of schedule in the country. How do you play for a Championship and play that flat ? They had no life from start to finish ! That has to come back to the coach not having his team ready. Ugly ! :smoking:

Defense was good...but LSU never tried to exploit the secondary of bama....IMO the coach really chocked....maybe had Miami on his mind

But yes worst performance

I find it funny that some people think Alabama isn't worth a shit football team, YES LSU beat Alabama the first time around 9-6. Before Alabama and LSU played the first time LSU was beating every team they faced to death putting a lot points on the score board and winning easily . But Alabama shut LSU down the first game they played, LSU couldn't score touch downs in the first meeting and they won by field goals. And in the National Championship game Alabama shut LSU down again LSU scored no touch downs or any points period.

So it's funny how all the LSU fans/people were talking shit about how good LSU is/was and that LSU was just going to horse f@ck Alabama in the National Championship game. Hell if any team didn't belong in the National Championship game it was LSU which is obvious now. Plain and simple LSU got lucky in the first game, and Jan.10,2012 they simply got their ass handed to them on both sides of the ball.

Offense win ball games

Defense win Championships

Easy to say after the fact but the consensus seems to be that LSU thought they could exploit the perimeter...Plan A didnt work, Plan B didnt work when they altered it somewhat in the 2nd half. Doesnt mean that Plan C or D would have worked either.

I heard a quote from one of bama's defensive players and he said their defensive goal for the game was to "not let LSU cross the 50"!!The Freaking 50 yard line. He said they failed because lsu crossed it once, halfway through the 4th qtr.

Great job by everybody involved with bama football on that game. Les Miles looked like a fool, but I feel pretty certain that had more to do with bama playing a Damn near perfect defensive football game than it did with les miles being stupid.

I'm good with watching a competetive defensive game, I prefer that than watching baylor/washington type game. But that game last night was about as entertaining as slitting your wrists, bama completely dominated that game in every possible way

LSU played plenty of good teams, but their offense was set up in a way that a top defense that could take away the run would shut them the hell down. Oregon and Arkansas are nice wins, but neither defense is dominant in the slightest. Alabama is the only legit elite defense they played all year, and the Tigers averaged 3 points per game in regulation during those 2 clashes. LSU is very good, but they fall apart against teams that can take away the run. There simply weren't many teams this year that were capable of doing that...

Word is that the LSU team bus was stuck in the Superdome parking lot for hours after the game.

Apparently somebody painted a 50 yard line in front of the bus and it took several hours for the bus to be able to cross it.
