Report: Bucs set interview with Marty Schottenheimer

Now, this make far more sense to us than the idea that Brian Schottenheimer is a strong head-coaching candidate this offseason.

Marty Schottenheimer will interview with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Tuesday for a chance at becoming their next head coach. ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reports the interview is on after there had been speculation the elder Schottenheimer would be in the mix.

The Bucs are seeking someone to change the culture in Tampa and Schottenheimer, 68, would be a great departure from Raheem Morris as head coach. He is 68 years old but the last time he had a job the San Diego Chargers went 14-2 in 2006. Schottenheimer has a career regular-season record of 200-126-1 and he’s shown a desire to keep coaching, working in the United Football League.

A former head coach of the Cleveland Browns, Kansas City Chiefs and Chargers, the Bucs could do far worse than the experienced Schottenheimer.

And if the Road Warrior says it, it must be true..

would have no issue with Marty coming to town, to restore order to the Bucs.....they need someone with experience to right the ship......I had hoped Fisher might have a shot, but apparently he never even interviewed, and he's already narrowed his choices to Miami and St Louis
