Tebow, Tiger reportedly eyed as golf partners at Pebble Beach

Do you lie awake at night, riddled with concern that a Broncos loss on Saturday could extinguish the rushing blaze of Tim Tebow coverage?

Fear not, friend, for something big is in the works on the manicured greens of Pebble Beach.

Tournament officials for the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am are mulling an invite for Tebow. If he accepts, a highly placed source claims the Broncos quarterback hopes to partner with none other than Tiger Woods, according to GlobalGolfPost.com.

Woods, a 14-time major winner, would have to approve the matching in what would serve as his 2012 debut following a shaky run on the greens in 2011. If the Tebow-Tiger pairing crumbles, there's been chatter of Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo pairing with Woods as a backup plan.

Tebow's dance card will be free. Even if Denver beats New England and continues its improbable run all the way to Super Bowl XLVI, the tournament is set for the following weekend, so Tebow should be available either way -- that is if Tiger will have him.

How can Tebow golf when he can't even throw?

I don't believe this.

Would be a great pairing for the tv audience, and that's where the big bucks come from. I doubt the rest of the field would have many, if any spectators following their groups though

I wonder if Tim will try and talk Tiger out of going to a strip club after the match?

IRVING, Texas -- When Tiger Woods opens his PGA Tour season at the Pebble Beach National Pro-Am on Feb. 9-12, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo will be his playing partner, according to a source.

The pairing has been widely speculated since Woods announced he would make his 2012 debut at Pebble Beach and survived a bout of Tebowmania with some wondering if Woods would play with Denver quarterback Tim Tebow.
Woods and Romo have become friends over the years with the world's most famous golfer attending a U2 concert at Cowboys Stadium in the suite shared by Romo and Jason Witten.
They have played a pro-am round before, coming at the AT&T National at Congressional outside Washington D.C. in 2009.
Woods has not played the Pebble Beach National Pro-Am since 2002 but won the event in 2000 with a memorable comeback. Romo played the 2010 and '11 events with John Daly.
