Been experimenting with it with some success at 5dimes and SIA..

Anyone playing it on a consistent basis ?
Any success ?
Are you playing it for middles ?
Do you have a gameplan or a stradegy going in ?

thoughts ?

Opportunities do present themselves.

Bad thing is that wood rises at a 10 cent book. Rising wood at a 20 cent book is even worse for the stack.

Fading early game flow can be interesting though. A pregame favorite down 1-0 after 20 minutes, that becomes +120ish can be a good cup of tea. Hell, if they trail by 2 after 20, +400 is a pretty number, but a stronger cup of tea.

Over time, if you bet into early game flow and lay wood, you shall resemble dogmeat when the day is done. My 2 cents regarding live betting.

Late game flow is more likely to prevail, but far too risky. Bridge jumpers like to lay -2000 with minutes to play.

I never had luck. Haven't touched it since Bama beat Texas in championship game. I have found success in second half hoop Plays

Don't middle just to middle. If, at the time you make the bets, you judge that wagering on that side is +EV and you happen to end up on both sides with a potential big middle, then that's great, but don't aim for middles and don't force them or you'll just be giving back money that you would've made if you'd stuck with your first bet.

The in-game oddsmakers don't have much time to put up odds once the game goes to commercial, so there can be a lot of mistakes to pounce on if you catch them quickly before the line gets bet down.

Can be some crazy swings in live-betting, so it may be best to start out betting less than 1 of your normal units for straight bets, at least until you get more comfortable with it.

Very good post. I use live wagering more to protect a nice future wager more than anything else. However sometimes that doesn't work out because the wrong team takes the lead and runs away with the bacon. It's a good weapon a lot of times however. GL

So you don't play live betting unless you already have a bet on the game ?

Live betting is great in the playoffs if you are hedging a future. In football I frequently middle the next team to score.

i enjoy live betting also, primarily use betonline since i can do it right from my iphone during games. i used to be into it much more when wsex was big and matchbook was around for US players. Since then shops offer it with higher vig i don't use. SIA was great too because they were slow to move lines and had opinions other times and you could find 4-5 pt middles at the same time. I think most books now just copy others but I could be wrong.

I have done live wagering using Cantor here in Vegas and I have noticed that they have new lines far more often than like 5 Dimes . However you better be quick to get your wagers in before the next play starts. like I said earlier, I use live wagering more to protect a nice profit in a future wager I might be holding.

I love the live wagering option. It's most useful in games where I can't get the line I wanted before the start and a better line presents itself during live wagering. In several cases I hit my play made during live wagering and would've lost if I played that side originally.

That was my approach with Michigan and Michigan St last night... Once I was able to get +3 1/2 - +4 1/2 i was on it...

Not at all. It doesn't matter whether I previously made a bet, before the game or live, or not at all. If anything, I'm actually less likely to make a pre-game bet on a game if I plan to do live betting on it.

In evaluating a bet the only thing that matters is given the information at the time, is this bet +EV. That being said, I have a risk tolerance where I won't bet more than a certain amount on one side at one time, so I will sometimes not bet things that are +EV if I feel I'm already risking enough on that result.
