Going down to Vegas for the first/second round of the NCAA's in March, deciding between Treasure Island and Monte Carlo as far as hotel goes (Both got good deals and we're all post grads needing to save on a hotel).

If anyone has any input on either one of these two i'd appreciate it a lot! Any suggestions would be great, thanks fellas.

Where do you guys plan to watch the games? That could be a factor in your decision. However, I would go MC, as I like the location better. You are close to Aria/Cosmo. TI is close to Wynn/Encore. Surrender is my favorite place to go out. Both are decent places. You are fine either. TI has slightly better rooms, but the difference isn't noticable.

Honestly, if you can save $50 or $100 with one, take that one. Either way is about the same.

I would go to TI for the location, and if you want to shop for the best number its easier in that area, and better locations to choose from to watch, just my opinion

I like the Monte Carlo location better as TI is only close to the Wynn/Encore and Monte Carlo is close to a lot of properties. I would probably go with the one with the cheaper price since you mentioned wanting to save some money. Can't go wrong with either hotel.

What about TI being Next to the Mirage and Caesars ? and across from the Venetian and Palazzo ??
I like the Sportsbooks best at the Mirage & Caesars to watch games. Plus you have some Hot Clubs in that area, including Tao @ the Venetian and they Just opened a 10ak at the Mirage.

I would choose TI. North part of the strip classier and more fun than the south part IMO.

TI much better vibe for the young crowd. MC seems like it caters to middle aged adults. Great location for TI too...I would stay there.

The TI itself has great numbers................Krackman does not hang around there just to eat at Gilly's.

Also, if needed, TI offers free WIFI in their sportsbook.

Also, beyond the above mentioned sportsbooks close by, The WYNN can be accessed via the walkway in 10 minutes or less if one hustles..........The Wynn consistantly has good numbers.

Exactly - TI is still an independent sportsbook, so by staying there you have access to their numbers and are still close to sportsbooks at the MGM/Mirage (next door), Cantor (M) numbers (across the street) and Wynn (across the street).

Plus, I think the TI is the nicer hotel.

Make sure you sign up for a TI slot card..................they have a good promo for new signups that will allow one to pick up a few bucks just for a few minutes(depending on line at slot club booth) of hassle.

This really should be a no-brainer for anyone that visits the TI that has yet to have a slot card...................a couple of my friends picked up over $50 each doing this.

Think RX posters Dante, Achilles, and Mr. Leisure did this after I recommend it to them..................as usual, think Dante made the most of the three on the promo.

Treasure Island it is then! We haven't talked about where we want to watch the games, but one of the guys that is going said that people will be sleeping in chairs overnight on Weds to get a spot to watch the games all day on Thursday. Is that true? If so, which sportsbooks will be the most packed and where would be an under the radar type place to go to for action/viewing on the games? Is the Treasure Island sportsbook a good spot? Thanks for all the input from you guys that have done this before, really do appreciate it.

On a crowded day, TI not a good place to watch games....................

I would recommend the Palazzo or Ceasers if you get there early, or your best option, a possible location off the strip if chasing down betting numbers is not a concern with you.

My favorite casinos to watch games away from the main strip.......

SOUTHPOINT
SUNSET STATION
GREEN VALLEY RANCH
THE M

However, almost anyplace you go expect crowds, misery, and limited seating................. Americans are fascinated with the BIG FRAUD..........the majority are a fickled bunch. :)

A better option is to hit up one of the fine english pubs around the city and watch soccer. :103631605

By the way, another reason to avoid the Monte Carlo is that they were one of the hotels hit the worst by BED BUGS..........may by many of the little creatures still out and about.

Yeah, that all totally makes sense. I've heard that Ceaser's has an incredible layout in their sportsbook, that would be near the top of our list I would think. I guess it would all depend on how early we want to get up to get a spot somewhere on the strip. Or possibly go off it if it's just that insanely packed. And my buddies I'm going down with are all soccer nuts, so if there's any premiere league action I'm sure we'll be watching/betting it.

If I come across any good local joints with good deals, will let you know............will be on the lookout.

Bump this thread as March approaches to remind me.

Just go to the one you got the best deal at....you cant go wrong with either. Stayed at TI last month will be at the MC in march as well (stayed here before), both are nice with nice rooms. The sportsbooks are lacking compared to ceasers but on the flip side youll get better service since there isnt a million people around a huge book. Also had the best gaming luck at these 2 places...gl

Forgot to add TI has the oldest below average looking waitresses of any casino in vegas IMO lol
