LAS VEGAS -- Court records in Nevada show that a felony warrant that led to the arrest in Los Angeles County of an assistant coach for the Dallas Mavericks stemmed from an unpaid $37,500 debt at a Las Vegas Strip casino.

Documents obtained Thursday by The Associated Press accuse 43-year-old Darrell Armstrong of passing a bad check and theft stemming from casino markers, or IOUs, last June at Harrah's Las Vegas Hotel and Casino.

Armstrong was arrested Tuesday and freed Wednesday on $40,000 bail. Los Angeles sheriff's officials say he was a passenger in a vehicle stopped for a traffic violation in Marina Del Rey, Calif.

The Mavericks have declined to comment.

Prosecutor Samuel Bateman in Las Vegas didn't immediately respond to messages, and it was unclear if Armstrong had a lawyer in the case.we$$$
