This is my reply to the post titled “You can Ban me for this.”
There are quite a few accusations in it and it refers to 4 people who are ruining this website. Graciously the author states he’s not mentioning names but apparently one offender was so objectionable the name couldn’t be contained.
Yes it seems I am the skurge of this forum. I won’t detailed analysis but I invite anyone that is of the notion to read my posts and comments and judge for yourself. Do I make an occasional comment that could be construed as bashing? I suppose if you wanted to look at it that way. I think considering the way I’ve written most of my posts or comments people should recognize me as someone that is just trying to add some humor. This style is included in posts I’ve written concerning the events of nights out trying to score. If you ignore my style it would appear I was bashing myself in those stories?
One poster makes the statement that I’m an old poster that hascome back with a new name. That’s someone just deciding that with no foundation or proof. When you put that forth and back it up saying "I know" the correct term for that is lying. It isn’t true but I’m left without recourse, guilty by opinion. Am I not supposed to be offended that people say whatever they want just because they have over 1000 posts?
In the discussion it’s mentioned that people using profanity and name-calling need to be reported. I have NEVER used profanity, and I’ve never called anyone a name. I don’t have that many posts or comments so that fact can be easily verified. Now I find it ironic that in this very same thread I am called a “Complete Fukin Idiot” along with various other names. That’s about as double a standard as I’ve ever seen.
Another issue in this post is pointing out a comment I made in the QOH thread. That comment was referred to and pasted into the discussion. The accusation is that I was ripping the book and the question asked is “What does this post accomplish?” To answer that it was initially said just to illicit a laugh. I could try to explain but to anyone that failed to see how it could be comical an explanation would be of little value. As for asking “what does it accomplish?” It brings levity to what was an intense discussion. Although silly It was intended to let people take a step back and realize this isn’t something to get so worked up over. Look at the view count and reply count associated with that thread. Am I the only one that can see that’s a hot and heated thread?
When I found this website I looked at it as a group of people sharing a common interest. Winning and at the same time a place to vent or get away from the bad feelings that often accompany our occasional losses. (I better say that’s justa joke before I’m accused of acting cocky and saying I rarely lose) In thinking this I thought things said tongue in cheek if you will would be understood to be nothing more than the ball busting men do.
For example suppose we were in a bar after a game and in discussing the outcomesomeone would say, “The Giants were lucky and Eli Manning sucks.” The reaction wouldn’t be for someone who is aGiant fan to get the bartender and say I want that person punished and they shouldbe thrown out and never let back in. Itwould be more like “Well you suck too“ and everybody would laugh because theyknow it isn’t personal and get back to what they were talking about. Well maybe after they cleaned up all theglass and broken furniture.
Now here I am spotlighted by people that have decided I’mhere to cause problems. I’m not hard headed, I can look at things from all angles. I understand some people take things too seriously. I would hope they aren’t as mean spirited as they can appear. I don’t want to imply I took everything in that thread as an attack on me. I appreciate the efforts to point out things to the contrary and I thank those that tried to help.
To the others I’ll say I’m sorry! If anyone personally thinks I intentionally said something to belittle or insult them I apologize. Most of all I’m sorry that some people don’trealize my intentions.
So there you have it, I don’t enjoy writing like this and I’msure most don’t want to be reading it. Ican assure you it won’t be something I repeat. If I’m the bad guy tell me, I’ll solve your problem for you. I have no desire to be somewhere that people don’t want me.
