ufc has no control over the judges at all. they are independent people. dana white, joe rogan, and others often times ask what the judges were watching or thinking. This is why they always promote to not let the fights go to the judges, bc u can get robbed. i watched the fight, thought diaz won too. was shocked when they announced condit

I don't get how fights are scored. Machida had like the same fight as Condit when he fought Rampage...and hey didn't give it to him...

Diaz won that fight in my opinion. This is turning into point fighting.

I thought first 2 rounds were close.. Probably Diaz but one or the other could have gone to Condit.. Then 3rd n 4th round easily went to Condit.. 5th round was Condit's until that take down.. I thought it was close to a coin flip and was expecting a split decision, but very happy with the result after Pierce blew his fight in the last 30 seconds by giving up that take down..

Fwiw, Sherdog had Condit, too.

If you look at the numbers on paper...then sure give it to Condit. If MMA fights were all scored on a compu strike stats then a lot of fights would come out different.

Many pro fighters including Hendo, Joe Lauzon, and Pat Militich thought Nick won. Condit won what is becoming a pt fighting contest. People don't throw leg strikes to hurt anymore...but rather accumulate pts while staying away from trouble. Aldo, Barao, Pat Barry...those guys throw real kicks, to actually do damage. Nick walked through all of those weak shots.

Was a close fight. But Condit is now know as the Natural Born Sprinter. Greg Jackson is the master at having his fighters steal fights. It isn't to come to win fights, but rather do what they need to do to steal fights.

I'd agree with this. I had it 48-47 Diaz.

Fight could have gone either way. Wasn't a robbery. Condit was on his horse the entire time and avoided damage well. He also left every exchange with a jab or kick to Diaz. Those add up and the judges thought they were more worthy than octagon control. Aggression is only a small portion of the scoring criteria. I don't think the decision would have been wrong if either guy won.

I don't know how you think Diaz won. The way I saw the fight is that Diaz was totally frustrated by Condit's defense, speed and elusiveness. Condit definitely put more of a beating on Diaz, than the opposite.

Condit's landed way more effective kicks, and punches. Just because Diaz was moving forward the 1st 2 rounds doesn't mean he won. Diaz needed to throw more strikes.

I definitely saw the look of confidence on Diaz's face go away in the third round. Why, because Condit's punches and kicks were landing and Diaz wasn't landing much. Diaz obviously felt and feared these strikes or else he would he been more aggressive and marched thru Condit's striking. If Condit wasn't a threat why didn't Diaz grab him or smother him.

Condit really took the fight to Diaz in the 3rd and 4th rounds. Condit also won the 2nd round and was winning the 5th round until the take down with 55 seconds left.

Condit clearly won this fight. Diaz did nothing except for a flurry in the 2nd round and the late takedown. Every time Diaz landed a solid punch Condit responed with his own punches and leg kicks.
