Congrats! You just won 200 million in a mega lottery.....

How long until you collect the money?are you taking the Lump Sum or the Annuity? And Why? Who do you tell first?

What's the first thing you buy? Plans for the money? Most Ridiculous thing you would do?

Its always good to dream @):)

I would buy a Sears franchise, hire that prick asst mgr that kicked me out the other night, and have him bring me nacho's while I watched the game in MY Sears.

I would declare my winnings under a trust instead of my real identity to keep the television cameras out of my business, along with the hundreds of new friends and relatives that will come out of the woodwork.

In December there was an announcement by Sears Holding Corp. to close 100 to 120 Sears and Kmart stores...

Collect asap ("live every day like it was your last one...it very well could be...")
Lump sum because see above...
And this might answer your final 4 questions all at once: 1st one I'd tell would be Judge Wapner, after buying the Pirates Club... seriously: Probably would buy a oceanfront apartment somewhere in Brazil, Balneario Camboriu or Floripa and set up some small company to acquire Brazilian residency.

I win the lottery and now what? Now I am in a intensive care unit in a local hospital clinging on to life by the skin of my teeth due to a massive coronary. That kind of great fortune would be hazardous to my health.

I would take care of several people around me and then several charities and off course set aside tons of me money for the family.

After that, I would spend everything to ensure David Stern was brought up on federal RICO charges. I would go after every Congressional rep and Senator and get this pond scum.

Easy

lump sum because it's gonna be a lot of money anyways and I will want to do things immediately.

I call my Mom first

I buy a place on the beach in CR or somewhere. Build some bungalows (3 to 5 max) and have an all-inclusive small resort. One a week there would be movie night on the beach with a projector playing a movie on a canvass. Watching a movie at night with the sound of the ocean and and millions of stars in the sky is amazing. Grow my own veggies and flowers for the freshest ingredients. I would snokel for lobster and fish. It would be a remote place. Private. High end. I would snorkel for lobsters. My sister would come down and run the website and book reservations.

something like
Ko-Phangan-huts.jpg

I would travel 6 months every year and spend my money for those that need it.

Most ridiculous thing would be a huge ass satellite dish so that I could catch the games.

You always have to dream.

Cash

Take cash and half of my winnings will go to abused animals/shelters. I will not hand the money over, but build housing/care for the animals. My life would be, animals, working out, playmates, and making sure my mother gets whatever the hell she wants. Also take care of 4-5 close people. I like dreamin too:103631605

90% of the people who win lotteries go through their entire winnings in the first 5 years. One of the biggest mistakes you can make is to take it in a lump sum payoff. The annual payments are a much better deal. Plus after you're done boozing it up with countless hookers in your first year and blow all of your winnings, at least you'll know you have 29 more payments coming your way. And hopefully the hookers will be out of your system by then.

I saw a 20/20 episode a few years back. They assembled 10 lottery winners and every one of them said they wish they never won the lottery. Why? Well they said that after they got the money and gave their friends some they all came back and asked for more after they spent it. When they refused to give them more money, there was resentment and they lost most of their friends.

First of all I'd take the lump sum, and Calif pays it out in about 2.5 weeks. Usually, after taxes and the lump sum you wind up with about 1/3 of the jackpot. I believe they initially withhold 20% for taxes. There are no Calif. state taxes involved.

I would tell my GF first since she lives with me, and then my children. I would then buy a top of the line car like a Rolls, Bentley Mulsanne or MB Maybach. Next I would buy at least two homes. One in Rancho Santa Fe, CA, or some beach area, and one in Las Vegas. I'd live in Vegas from the start of the NFL season to the start of the NBA playoffs, or whenever the temperature hit 100 degrees. Then back to Calif. I'd go for the summer months.

Hopefully I would take the payments because it equals out to be more in the end. For $200million, Id quit my job, prob buy a golf course for $5-6 million, which around here is a pretty average golf course. Working at a golf course is the only job I've ever had that I truly enjoyed, it just doesn't pay shit to work at one, even club pros dnt make shit for the hours they put in. That's what id do
