http://www.nj.com/yankees/index.ssf/2016/04/ex-yankee_ichiro_suzuki_joined_willie_mays_in_this.htmlIchiro Suzuki's career has been remarkable.

From an outstanding run in Japan, to AL MVP in Seattle, to the single-season hit record, to the second-most combined professional hits ever, the now 42-year-old Marlins outfielder has seemingly done it all on baseball field. That was until yesterday's Mets-Marlins tilt at Citi Field. When Marlins manager Don Mattingly delivered the lineup card before first pitch, the ex-Yankee was penciled into center field. When Ichiro trotted out for the bottom of the first inning, he joined an historic group of older center fielders.
ichiro starting in cf for mia, age 42. others in CF at 42: mays 41 starts, '73 mets, yaz 2, '82 sox, finley 15, '07 rox

Willie Mays. Carl Yastrzemski. Steve Finley. Ichiro. That's it across all of baseball history.

Most deserving ballplayer never to be inducted by far:
Junior Stephens, first power hitting SS:

After WWII no offensive player had more RBI's in a 3 year stretch than Stephens not even
during the video game stats of he steroid era. 440 from 1948-1950

Still holds RBI mark for a season for shortstops 159 in 1949

Lead Browns to there only pennant in 1944

In 1943, 1944 & 1945 had more HR's than all the other AL shortstops combined,
no other player has done that over those who played their similar position.
