“Where are we at with the streak?” Drew Miller asked after a 3-2 victory Sunday against the
San Jose Sharks.
The Red Wings are at 23 wins in a row at Joe Louis Arena, which is an N.H.L. record, and 6 in a row over all. Detroit, which broke the league’s single-season record of 20 on Tuesday, has now surpassed the 22 wins in a row the Boston Bruins had over two seasons more than eight decades ago. But the Red Wings are only .500 on the road. “We’ve got a good thing going, but we need to take it on the road,” Miller said.
“We have a lot of rivals, but that’s the one we seem to play a lot in the playoffs,” Henrik Zetterberg said of the Sharks, who have eliminated the Red Wings in the last two postseasons. “So you want to win each game against them.”
