a friend of mine once said...

You can win a Horse Race.....but...

I am convinced (as many of us secretly are) that I am destined to win a lotto jackpot in my lifetime. That should tip the scales to my favor. Until then though, I am F'd

Currently up, doesn't mean I'll stay ahead for the rest of my life, but I'm hopeful.

As long as you stay away from sportsbetting it is possible....get someone like Judge Wapner on the golf course three times a week and then maybe retire after a few good years...

I think if people are lifetime winners they just aren't posting about it on the forums. Hard to imagine that professional sports bettors would be hanging out on internet forums.

I am up rather nicely for my lifetime... up over 10k just last year (inlcudes poker)...granted thats my highest year yet.... still I am a small bettor that rarely gambles... something I learned is to take my winnings out ASAP. I do what many of you hate. Withdrawal "small" amounts often... I also go 6+ months a year not gambling at all.. but still handicapp and do contest and track myself

- I'm up around $10k betting offshore in the last 6 years. (my unit is $50- contests have helped A LOT).
- Probably even on horses. I won about $3k on the ponies last yr
- Probably up a little on poker.
- Down big time on blackjack and other casino games.
- Way down on Lotto/scratchoffs as well.

Winning player so far...no reason to think it will not continue. It is depressing to see the attitudes of people who just "know" they are going to lose - you don't have to lose all the time if you make the decision to be a winner. You get out of gambling what you put into it...if you are going to gamble you are going to lose. If you know you are getting the best of a number/play you are destined to win. Of course money management matters more than practically anything...but we all need just a bit of "luck" on our side. It is damn near impossible to win betting into -110...especially for an "action junkie" but there is good value to be had in other places - it may be dwindling but it is still there.

Been up steady for years. I have always looked at sportsbetting as stocks. You pick and choose, buy low and sell high.. It takes focus, discipline, and smart money management. if you can't do those 3 then get out or accept it as recreational

I hope. Sick as is, I'm 24 and have probably lost $20,000 since I started (had a bookie in town at 16). I made some BIG mistakes 20-22 that I'll never make again so I do believe eventually I can pull it out. If not, oh well. You only live once and can't take the paper into the grave.

If i was betting any kind of real money i would have lost everything in the last 2 months. Since losing the BCS game i was on a 2-17 run. Ive never lost like this in my life. Took a month or so off, posted up at Sportbet last night made 2 wagers and dropped em both.....Now i take the over on the Clemson/Ga.Tech game and ill be damned if GT hasnt scored but 18 points in the entire 1st half!!!!! I almost ended up in a straight jacket over a 6 month losing streak in poker awhile back but this is the worst ever. No matter what i do its the wrong thing and i seriously dont WTF im doing wrong. Ive just lost whatever edge i once had. Bridge jumping is becoming an option here..
The RX is missing a huge score here, they should be paying me to post my picks every night on the main forum. Fading me would bring in more hits than DRUDGE ever dreamed of!!!!

I think the key would be to find how teams match up against each other and then take into account the situation of each team. I think I'm just unsure of how to go about doing just that so I haven't put in the effort. If a person could find that out I think they could win consistently as long as they stayed away from the bets they haven't put in their homework on.
