Man finds $3.5 million stash of comics in closet

Holy payday, Batman!

A pile of comic books stashed in a basement closet just scored one man $3.5 million. The collection of 345 comic books included some of the most-prized issues ever published, dating back to 1938. Michael Rorrer found the books in his aunt's basement after she passed away. The collection included the debut of Batman, which sold for about $523,000, and the first appearance of Superman, which sold for $299,000. The majority of the collection was sold at auction.

I loved comics when I was younger. I still have some my dad passed on to me when I was little. I am going to dig those up and hopefully I will have something of some value.

Hey You Never Know..... I sold a few Comics a couple of years ago and got $3500

I use to collect all kinds of stuff, Comics, Cards, etc.
I put them away and forget them for years. Every once in a while I will dig them up and see if anything is good.

Naturally...as probably happened to most of us....my mother threw away all my comics I had stored in the basement when I went to college. ##)

Not to mention all the baseball cards that were stored with them.

Man, Bagiant... thats the shit. Same thing happened to me... had all of the first 50 issues of Daredevil. Never did baseball cards though... even had a first edition of The Hobbit and a first edition of the The Two Towers with original dust jacket. The dust jacket intact is what gives a sought after first edition a doubling or tripling in value I have heard. Just hope one day I open a box and they appear.
