Oregon acknowledges NCAA violations

Associated Press
EUGENE, Ore. -- Oregon has acknowledged in documents that it did not adequately monitor its football program and that it did not follow NCAA regulations relating to recruiting and use of recruiting services
A statement of "proposed findings of violations" submitted by the NCAA to the Oregon athletic department was obtained Friday in a public records request by several media outlets.
The NCAA has been looking into Oregon's recruiting practices since questions arose over a 2010 payment of $25,000 to Willie Lyles and his Houston-based recruiting service. The information that Oregon said Lyles provided for the fee was largely outdated.
Oregon has not received a formal Notice of Allegations from the NCAA. The heavily redacted documents released Friday do not include any possible penalties.

I thought they hit Ohio State hard for what they did with tatoo gate. Major recruiting violations will be a big hit from the clowns better known as the NCAA.

Oregon may be the spearhead of a lot of shit that's been coming down with recruiting agents in all sorts of ways. These guys have been shopping players in the south and in Texas for a long time to a lot of schools and boosters that come with open checkbooks in hand. This is only the beginning. You'll see. Do you think Oregon was the only school that Will Lyles ever worked for? And he's just one of many.

I don't think the NCAA will use Oregon to make an example of this because they were too inexperienced. The NCAA might go after a program that's very dug into the system if they are going to get any traction with this.

My advice to Oregon is just show the weed, and hide the meth. And then hope for the best.

That was funny, regardless of recruiting issues Oregon football is tuff. Don't care for the coach but can't deny his success.

Osu, you don't care for their coach, why? He didn't do any worse than Tressel.

Not to be a basher from left field, but Tressel is a snake and I have thought that for years. What he did was pathetic and showed he had no morals as a leader of college kids. He is a liar and cheat....but some people (not saying u) think he is a great coach....great coaches don't lie or cheat. He did both at one of the largest schools in the ncaa...yeah, I guess his talent at OsU wasn't enough, lol.

Sorry for all the negative talk, but I had to get that out ;)

This is Williegate or is it something new? Wonder if there's anything in the mail for any of the other schools who paid for Lyles' services....
