Fellas,

Will be getting out to Vegas with 12 of my buddies Wednesday night through Sunday. Only been out there once and don't remember too much of it. Staying on the strip. Need advice on the following:

-best sportsbooks for the games
-best restaurants to eat at
-best strip clubs

Any other advice would be appreciated from some veterans would be appreciated!

I've been coming to Las Vegas for about 25 years and I live there now. Mirage and Venetian are the best for excitement and eye candy. If you want quiet... try a library ! Dining ? Redeye and I usually eat on the go and the Pizza place at the Mirage is great and you can see all the screens while you're dining. I have a car as I live here so for dinner We eat off the strip. Lots of great dining obtions on the strip however but the prices are not cheap. Maggianos right across from the wynn is one of my favorites. Advice on wagering... Make almost all of your wagers the day before the games if possible. Long lines are common.

Do yourself a favor and head down to Koval ave behind Ballys and stop in Ellis Island for some of the best [and cheapest] BBQ in the entire city. They also make their own micro beer there as well. For under $20 they'll serve you a whole slab of BB ribs, couple sides and a beer. Thank me later.

I thought that Ellis Island is famous for their unadvertised steak special. It's supposed to be a great deal.

Here is the most important piece of advice anyone is going to give you (not trying to be a douche), but based on your question, I am assuming you aren't firing on games ($5K or more per game).

If you aren't firing on games and are interested in 2nd half wagers, get in line at the Under 4 timeout of the 1st half. Then as you are waiting in line, let others pass you until the number is posted and then jump on whatever you want.

If you are firing on games, no need to worry about lines, most places should have a higher limit line.

I only go to Hilton or Cantor books. Hilton isn't overly crowded for tourny. If you are going for fun and want to sit, get there F'in early.

Great advice except for March madness weekend. Ellis Island is always a wait for dinner because of their great prices and great value. However I'd pay an extra $ 10 and not wait for an hour or more ! If you're in town during a non crazy weekend... give them a try !

Lines are usually only a problem right before tipoff on the morning and evening session. Once halftimes begin, I never have had a issue at any book..Not as many players playing halftimes as there are parlays, teasers, and straight bets at the beginning of each session

Agree 100 % ! These players holding up lines with their 7 teams parlays for $ 5 each drive me crazy ! Why don't they just donate the $$ to charity or give it to the homeless people at every freeway exit in Las Vegas ?Halftimes have never been a problem and I'm been doing this for over 30 years now also !

It is. And I took advantage of it for years until I discovered the BBQ. Fall off the bone, melt in your mouth Baby Backs, side of beans, corn on the cob and a hunk of garlic bread for like $15. It opens at 4 and closes at 10 I believe and you have to get there early or you'll wait all night for a table. Pizza is supposed to be real good as well but I've yet to try it. They also just added a great looking sandwich shoppe this month also. Also heard the prime rib was fantastic too but can't say I've tried that one either. Only negative is the shitty sportsbook and no parking. Even read the rooms next door weren't bad either. Might have to check that out one of these weekends.

i tend to stay away from the bigger casinos during tourney time.i like going to the locals types such as ORLEANS,SOUTH POINT,STATION CASINOS,places like that because they have march madness parties in their ballrooms.they have a few betting stations, discounted drinks, food and giveaways and its not hard to get your wagers in there either.to me it beats the crowds in the sportsbooks and you still have a good time cause the rooms usually get filled and plenty of excitement there just as the books......just an idea

Southpoint is a locals casino. Real good specials, and quality people. Their GM Growney is a stand up guy.

Define good lines ? A line is good for one side and bad for the other side. A good line is when you have choi8ces on both sides depending upon what side you're taking. I'm always amused by someone saying such and such a book has bad lines ... ? A so called bad line is a great line for somebody !
