I have been giving money to the Mitt Romney campaign for about 4 years now.

And never one time in that 4 years have I ever received a cold call asking me for money until today.

Today I get a call from someone claiming to be on the Mitt Romney election group.

It was from a blocked number.

The person on the other end of the phone was not professional at all.

He sounded like a sports tout selling is weekly 100% locks.

High pressure with very little substance.

I felt very uneasy about the whole thing.

Especially given the fact that I gave a $100 donation just the week before, and several before that.

Anyway I tell the dude I dont do any business over the phone, especially from people with blocked phone numbers.

He then goes on to tell me that I really dont give a shit about America(yes he said shit) and that I dont care about Romney blah blah blah.

It was at that moment that I went from thinking this was a scam, to knowing this was a scam.

I then contacted the real Romney campaign to find out that they had nothing to do with whoever called me.

So my word of advice is dont assume that people calling you on the phone are legit.

Im sure these people made a lot of money today.

If the prick on the phone would have been just slightly more professional he maybe could have gotten away with getting a few bucks out of me.

Just a heads up.

Might as well bet on the Bobcats to win outright instead. Unless Romney flames out and Jeb jumps in, the Republicans are running on empty this year. That's my opinion anyway.

Bobcats won last night.

Thats what they said about Reagan.

Anyway whats the deal with the Bush family?

Do you honestly think America is ready for another Bush?

How come people dont want a business man who has actually done something in the real world like Romney.

I laugh my ass off every time NEWT and Santorum tell everyone that THEY are the outsider's and Romney is the establishment.

Give me a break!

Romney has spent a grand total of 4 years of his life in politics and exactly 0 years in Washington.

But the 2 lifetime political clowns are going to tell everyone that Romney is the establishment choice.

Once people get to know Romney his numbers will come up.

Romney's problem is more with the conservative base then it is with the general electorate.

The republicans have a conservative base that cares about nothing other then abortion, which church you go to etc...
They live in a very small world where they care more about birth control pills then they do about the economy.

The good news is these same people who dont particularly like Romney will vote for him in the general election even though they dont care for him much.
They are the people who would vote for Saten if he had an R next to his name and would vote against the pope if he had a D next to his name.

Im a true indy who voted for Clinton and Ron Paul.

I refused to vote for McCain and will not vote for Newt if he somehow came out the choice.

Romney plays very well to the indy's like myself.

Husker I have a very narrow focus when it comes to this election.

Most of the things that Mitt has been so-called flip floppy on is outside of my circle of concern.

I want someone knows how to run a business who has actually done something in real life outside of Washington.

Romney is the only who has done that.

Other than Jeb, I agree. Santorum is fucking nuts and Newt has a history of screw ups in his life. Romney is the guy unless he screws up big, and they'll be forced to bring in Jeb in that case. All the others are just around for the show.

It will be interesting to see if Romney gets the nod and then calls on JEB! to be his veep in hopes of gaining traction in potential swing state of Florida

so many scams out there today its horrible

The biggest (and successful) scam in politics today is that the motivation for voter ID laws is to protect the integrity of the vote and prevent fraud. Anyone who believes that's why they want those laws is a fool. Unfortunately, there are millions upon millions of fools. Not trying to instigate. Just trying to educate.

You'd be surprised how many will vote for him just because of his last name. I don't think he can beat Obama, but I feel he has a better chance than Romney and the other idiots behind him.

But I bet you there will be more people who DONT vote for him because of his last name.

Not bashing Romney because I believe he's the best candidate the Republicans can put on the table this year, but I figured I'd post this. I don't mind if people reevaluate things and then change their opinion, but I have to believe he's only doing so to please the voters. Not sure how I feel about a candidate that doesn't stand up for what he believes in just to get elected. The guy comes from a family of politicians and he's just playing the game. I don't know how real he is. Probably not at all. Wish he'd be more honest, but this is politics so I understand.

Mitt Romney on Abortion:

1994: "Abortion should be safe and legal in this country."
2002: “Let me make this very clear, I will preserve and protect a woman’s right to
choose.”
2011: "I believe people understand that I'm firmly pro-life."

Mitt Romney on Homosexual Marriage:

1994: “As we seek to establish full equality [for gays], I will provide more effective
leadership than my opponent, [Edward Kennedy]".
2011: “I believe we should have a federal amendment to the Constitution that defines
marriage as between a man and a woman.”

Mitt Romney on Homosexuality in the Military:

1994: "[I support] gays and lesbians being able to serve openly and honestly."
2007: "‘Don’t ask, don’t tell’ has worked well... We’re in the middle of a conflict. Now is
not the time for a change in that regard, and I don’t have a policy posture as to
allowing gays in the military to serve there openly."

Mitt Romney on Healthcare:

2007: “I’m proud of what we’ve done... If Massachusetts succeeds in implementing it, then
that will be a model for the nation.”
2011: "What works in one state may not be the answer for another."

Mitt Romney on Immigration:

2006: "[I am against] rounding up 11 million people and forcing them at gunpoint from
our country."
2008: "I disagree fundamentally that the 12 million people who come here illegally should
be allowed to stay here permanently. I think that is a form of amnesty and that it's
not appropriate."

Mitt Romney on Campaign Finance Reform:

1994: "I would like to have campaign spending limits."
2007: "The American people should be free to advocate for their candidates and their
positions without burdensome limitations."

I think he was flopping when he was running for Gov in mass.
I think his real beliefs are the ones he mentions now.
But the important thing is he has not flip flopped on any of the economy issues.

The base is going to force him to toe the line on the social issues no matter what he fells inside so im not worried about those flip flops.

If he does that he will never get another cent from me again.

Rubio can accomplish all of that and more.

You should go back and look at some of the stuff Obama has on record while in the Senate and what he is saying now. 99.9% of lifelong politicians are snakes. I agree with Chop, maybe give a non-politician a try. I personally am ashamed to say this, but I voted for BO the first go around, but no way in hell he is getting my vote this time. Just being honest.
