never won 15 games in a season. Damn...congrats Matt Cain - you're now the highest paid RHP in history! Wish Cardinals could've extended Wainright before this ridiculous deal! Baseball salaries are ridiculous!!

Not really. At his current pace he will probably become the first $200 million pitcher if he becomes a free agent unless he gets injured.

Cain is rock solid and a horse. The reason he and Lincecum don't have as many wins as some other pitchers is due to the lack of hitting and run support by the Giants. Perhaps this year will be different!

I wouldnt give out 200 million to a pitcher like Lincecum because he will break down but they have been saying that about him since he was drafted. And it doesnt matter what either one of us think, when he hits free agency and the Red Sox and Yankees see a true ace hit the free agency plus the Dodgers with an opportunity to slap their enemy I think the price tag will be a new record for a pitcher.

If I were the GM of the Giants I would have signed Cain to the big deal like he just got and let lincecum walk when hes deal is up.
Thats probably what they are going to end up doing.
Cain will be pitching better baseball 5 years from now then Tim will.

You dont give contracts for past performance. You give them out for future performance.

No doubt in my mind Cain will have more career wins from this day forward then lincecum

So you say that Cain will have more wins than Lincecum in the next 5 years but then you say that win/loss category is overrated. In that case wouldnt it make more sense to say that Cain will be the better pitcher in the next 5 years to matter what their win/loss record show. Im only saying it because if Lincecum goes to a big power house club in the AL east he wont have to be near as good as Cain to win twice as many games because he will have a great offense every time he pitches.

Is there any doubt that the Giants made the right choice giving the big money to Cain?
Timmy is imploding Barry Zito style.

31/3 inning 8 runs tonight

Just think what Cole Hamels will get after this year...he will break the bank...

No doubt in my mind he goes to some California team...most likely the Dodgers..

Look up the word horse in the dictionary and theres a picture of Matty Cain just methodically mowing down his opponent, quietly and effectively.

For years.
