General question about betting, and I want some opinions. If you place a wager on line and realize you made a mistake, say you picked a first half total but really wanted the game total. Should you be able to correct it if you call the book immediately and the game still hadn't started? Or are you locked into your mistake and be more careful next time? Thanks in advance.

Some books will change it for you if its before the game has started of course, and there is no change in the line.

ALL of them SHOULD do it though, in my opinion.

Agreed.. I know from experience 5dimes will let you do it only once and claim that this is not part of their policy afterwards and deny any other requests while making you wait 15 min. while they twiddle their thumbs.

most books have a 5 or 10 minute rule assuming the line hasnt moved and the wager is not for an obscene amount. The reason being the Agent may have laid off some of the action. If its a post up book they definitely should remove if the line hasnt moved.

Thanks for all the replies. I don't want to mention book because it was my fault but yeah, I immediately called them back, minute or two after the wager, and I was told that the line had moved (funny how after the phone call the line was the same when I checked again) anyway, I was told the line moved against me, so I said I would pay the extra juice for the correct bet but was told no can do... No biggie, just not making me want to stay there.

If you had the funds available and they didnt let you bet the otherside for double to correct your mistake then I would consider that to be a crappy book. Just an opinion.
