I have my first strong play of the year, and I got up out of bed to come and put it in and post it, because I can see my local jacking this baby way up there on me.

Strong Play

Washington Nationals -165 -- (to win 5 units)

I will have a better write up tommorow, but the Cubbies just arent going to be good this year. Washington has better Starting Pitcher (by alot), better hitting (by alot), better feilding, and better bullpen, along with a better Manager. Dale Sveum, imo, is in way over his head, I do not believe he is ready to be a manager, he is a decent hitting coach, not a manager.

WOW. Uhhh.. Welp, good luck with this one.

Made up my mind that you're gonna be my go to guy for baseball, and while I love my Cubbies and opening day is always great, gotta do what ya gotta do. I've bet against my teams before, depending on the circumstance. Won't even THINK about going against my Bulls this year.. Went against the Bears last year and have gone against the Cubs before. I know we'll suck this year, so might as well get working on a high draft pick! Why revamp this front office with a new GM, VP of player production and scout team if we're not gonna use it?

Might as well grow the bankroll since this is gonna be a long year on the North side. At least I get to watch the game! @)

Hoyer and Sveum said 1B Bryan LaHair is "50-50" to play Thursday. He has been dealing with a back problem the past few days.

Dempster is making his fourth career opening start, including two with the Florida Marlins (2001-02).
He is 0-1 with a 5.68 ERA in 19 innings over those three previous openers.

The Cubs, for instance, have lost their past two openers in what turned out to be fifth-place seasons – including an ugly 16-5 loss in Atlanta in 2010 that seemed especially to set a tone for what became their first losing season in four years. just some info bol guys

This is THE problem w/having only one "out" you're usually getting a bad line, w/no other option. You need to expand your horizons.

1st off I don't think Rodgers only has 1 out Russell or silver. If I've noticed anything it's that he doesn't lower or fabricate his lines and 2nd he's confident in this play so prolly jus don't Giva f$&k what he posts it at! With that being said this line is wayyyy too high on the road w strasbourg comin off injury and dumpsters track rec against wash in my mind . W the cubs being "bad" as mrr12 said n wash vs. dempster in past I'd lean under or np....good luck n good cappin to u and to all Rodgers your a class act bro

I only gamble through my local, and I am ok with that. I realize my lines are going to be bad in most instances betting favorites, but I get great numbers on underdogs, I have a great thing going with him, a friend, and pay outs are always in envelopes waiting for me tuesday morning, if I was in Vegas id have a bunch of outs, but since im in Wisconsin where gambling is actually ILLEGAL, ill take what I can, without having to go offshore.

like I said yesterday, my lines are going to be inflated on favorites through out the year

I have Philly -215, Dodgers -195, The Nats are up to -178, and Detroit is -185

some of those lines are like 50 dollars off national line.

Juice Play

Toronto BlueJays -123 -- (to win 2 units)

I love Ricky Romero, this guy is so underrated its not funny. He is one of the best pitchers in the game, and isn't treated like one. I think he pitches a great game today, and the Bluejays have some good sticks as well. Ricky Ro was my go to guy last year, and got him cheap, and will probably be my horse this year as well.

Football is normally my best sport, but I had an off year last year. Baseball I really got into about 3 years ago, and I love it now, I have had 3 really nice years in a row, hoping to make it 4.

the only dog a maybe like in those 3 is Boston. Philly should dominate Pitt, even with their injurys, and Doc's struggles in Spring Training, Kershaw I loved him last year, and I kept talking about him to my local, and now opening day this year he has him WAY jacked up, Edinson Volquez is so bad, I cant remember the last strike he threw.

my local isnt a childhood friend, he is 63 years old, he thinks hes smarter than vegas.

Action Play

New York Mets -108 -- (to win 1 unit)

Taking the Mets and Johan Santana here solely off how BAD Atlanta was last year against left handed pitching, it didnt matter who was on the mound against Atlanta, if he was a lefty they werent hitting him. Tommy Hanson really got beat around at the end of the year last year as well. Atlanta does have a very nice bullpen with one of the best setup man and closer, hopefully it doesnt come down to BP, and Johan can go the distance and the Mets can sprinkle on a few runs.
