I am sure many of you heard in the news that the Mets had to play a Spring Training game in Tampa versus the Yankees today. Following the game they had to fly to New York and get ready to play a 1:00PM game, while the Braves have been working out at Citi Field waiting for the Mets to show.

The Mets very not very happy and every "Talking Head" on ESPN/MLB Network talked about how displeased the players, Manager, and coaches were having to go all the way to Tampa then fly to New York for a game. Mike Francessa (Local Sports Radio Host) discussed it in detail as well. The New York Mets owners are the ones who wanted to play the game for revenue (they are serisouly that dumb).

The kicker is they have not had a chance to get use to the new dimensions of the ball park. They moved the fences in the outfield closer, so they haven't had a chance to get use to the field. Their Right Fielder, Lucas Duda is a First Basemen and just made the switch to the outfield last year. Right Field in Citi Field is the hardest outfield position to play. Andreas Torres will be playing Center Field for the first time as he just joined the Mets this year.

I do not see them turning too many Double Plays with Daniel Murphy playing second base. His natural position is First Base or 3rd Base but he is not a middle infielder. He made a few errors in Spring Training but a regular season game will get to him if he makes an error. He is just flat out bad as a second basemen.

Jason Bay did not have one RBI in all of Spring Training and he has been bad the previous 2 years with the Mets.

With all that being said I have no idea what the Braves have done or how they look.

New York is 32-18 in season openers, the best winning percentage (.640) in baseball history -- and that's after losing its first eight. Santana is 4-1 in five opening-day starts.

Yep, I am a die hard Met fan.

They lost last year too. Santana is making his first start in 19 months. He will be on a 80 pitch count. Their ballpen is not good. Look at Santana's career versus the Braves. he Braves hit him pretty well too.
