I'm looking for a new gas grill, any recommendations on what I should look for or what I should avoid?

Thanks

Weber's are the best I've dealt with... I think the Genesis line and above are still made in the US.

I concur with Weber, just dont want to spend $700 on a grill. Anything in a tier down that is elite? $300-$500 range

Also, what BTU level should not not drop below?

The Weber Q320 is around $300, and has the nice feature of enameled cast iron grill plates. Very easy to assemble and move, good quality.

I'd think anything over 18,000 BTU for a 2-burner would be fine...

I highly highly recommend Infared Technology grills... I swear my steaks cooked on that thing rival any steak restrurant.

I bought a cheaper one but my friend has one with the cast iron grates and I say get the upgraded.

Also by an nice grill cover to avoid rust

Had a Ducane for 10 years now. Still looks and cooks awesome. I think they are called DCS or something like that. Flat cooking surface, no hot spots. The key is finding a grill with a lip around the perimeter of the burners. Trash the angled grease deflectors, buy a stainless grate, place the pyramid stones on the SS grate evenly. Had a cheap fiesta brand in college that was the same set up and it cooked great also.

I would recommend buying a green egg or some sort of ceramic style. They last forever, so you come out ahead of the game in a few short years.

Get one of these:

if it doesn't grill all that well, I'm sure it could double as some sort of space craft

As long as I can get 30-40% of it in I am fine. Just tie the front end down to my seat frame, and it will be safe and sound. I do it all the time.

Hope you remember to tie the yellow flag in the back for safety.

I have a yellow Tom Cat that rides around with me, chances are he will sit ontop of the grill, looking out the back. It's all good............
