Hello all,

Going to keep this intro short and sweet. My name is Matt, I'm from New York, and it's great to be here with all of you in this fantastic community. I've been a diehard passionate and dedicated MLB over/unders gambler for awhile now, with my greatest achievement coming last year when I bet literally every single day of the 2011 season, en route to finishing 366-270-42 (Everything documented and proof can be provided). Unfortunately, I understand if there's any skepticism, as there's countless fakes out there, but that's why I'm here, ready to prove that I'm not a one-year fluke and to take my career (Just graduated college with my Journalism degree) to the next level by providing all of you with my daily picks, and my best bets coming in the form of detailed write-ups. So follow me if you please, as I take this stuff very seriously, and plan on winning more than I did last year.

To show you that I'm 100% honest with everything I do, let me tell you that I'm actually out to a 1-4 start with over/unders in 2012 (Lost: STL/MIA O7, PHI/PHI O7, MIA/CIN O7.5, & today's NY/TB U7. Won: TOR/CLE O7). I was a bit rusty but now that I feel normal again in my baseball mindset, I should turn it around now. With that all out of the way, here are today's MLB Over/Under bets...

2012 Record Coming Into Today, 4/6: 1-3

Colorado Rockies@ Houston Astros(Best Bet)
JeremyGuthrie vs Wandy Rodriguez
OVER 7.5

Idistinctly remember when these two teams got together last year, whether it bein Colorado or Houston, the result would almost always be high-scoring. Infact, five of their six 2011 meetings saw both teams score combineddouble-digit runs.

Yes,it’s 2012 now but both lineups are much of the same, eager and hungry to getstarted. Most importantly, as for any baseball over/under bet, is the pitchingmatchup, and in this one, we have Jeremy Guthrie making his Rockies debut. After an unspectacular start to his career in Baltimore, there is the variableof being able to turn everything around in a new city, but I just don’t seethat happening, at least in the early going. Guthrie’s numbers are nothingspecial, especially over the past three years in which he has put together a4.40 ERA and 1.31 WHIP. With low strikeout numbers as well, there’s nothing inhis statline that leads me to believe he’s ready to become an upper echelonpitcher.

Thenwe have Wandy Rodriguez, who is in one of the most unique situations in all ofbaseball for any pitcher, in that the team has publically tried to trade himmultiple times over the past couple of years. Interestingly enough, the Rockieswere one of the teams who almost acquired him, and I hope I’m not the only onewho distinctly remembers the unique situation of Wandy facing these sameRockies last year the day of the trade deadline, when he was heavily rumoredthat day of being on the move to Colorado. In any case, it never happened, andWandy has continued steady production for his longtime Houston club. In thissituation, though, I don’t see him thriving on Opening Day. Last April, Wandygot out to a bad 1-3 start, and posted his highest WHIP for any month - 1.45.In addition, he yieled his highest opposing batting average, .297, whileposting a not-so-pretty 4.27 ERA.

Ifind it curious that Vegas made the over/under for this game at 7.5… I’mguessing that’s mainly because of the Astros unintimidating lineup, but I seethem breaking through a bit tonight. Carlos Lee, while I’m admittedly a bitbiased being one of his biggest supporters, is still a legit cleanup hitter, and I’m in love with JD Martinez’ skillset and potential. Their offense willnot be as woeful as people think. On the other side is the Rockies’ usualpotent offense, so hopefully we get an encore of most of their 2011 meetings, that being a high-scoring affair.

Kansas CityRoyals @ Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim
BruceChen vs Jered Weaver
OVER 7

OpeningDay on ESPN is always a factor, but I’m not sure if that will play a role here.Jered Weaver is as good and consistent as they get in the American League, asevident in his second-place finish in the AL Cy Young vote last year behind theunstoppable Justin Verlander. So, in other words, there is no reason to believethat Weaver will get roughed up.

Onthe other hand, there is Bruce Chen, Major League journeyman, although hiscareer numbers would seem to indicate otherwise. After all, he was a very solid12-8 last year with a more-than-acceptable 3.77 ERA. So why then is the over mysecond best bet of the day? Offense.

Ifthere’s two lineups in baseball on the verge of doing some special things thisyear, it’s these two teams right here. We all know about what the Angels did,and I think their explosive lineup gets out to a terrific start in this game.Hell, they’re so stacked they can barely find room for 29-homerun-hitting MarkTrumbo! Just as interesting is the Royals lineup, which is also projected to dosome big things this year. Eric Hosmer led all of Spring Training in runsbatted in, and in my opinion, he’s a sure thing for the 2012 season. With himleading the way, and continued growth from youngsters Alex Gordon, BillyButler, and Mike Moustakas, this offense can be dangerous, and I see themgetting to Weaver for at least a couple of runs. Over 7 should be academic.

Other 4/6/12 MLBOver/Under Bets I’m Taking (In Order)

So any thoughts on these games? Agree? Disagree? I'm surprised there's not more discussion about my best bet Guthrie vs Rodriguez over, as that's a pretty low number for those two pitchers.
