Atlanta is now 0-4 in this early MLB season and have dropped 9 straight games dating back to last season with last years collapse at the end of regular season play. The last time the Braves had an 0-4 start was back in 1988 when they went 0-10 before final notching a win. Hanson gets the nod for Atlanta tonight and has a 0.97 ERA career vs. Houston with 42 K's in 37 Innings Pitched. Chipper Jones will make the start tonight coming off the DL and looks to bring some reliable defense to a Braves squad who gave last night's game away with error's. Houston is a solid 3-1 playing well at home and Manager Brad Mills looks to be to piecing together a squad who has the potential to rise out of the depths on past seasons. Weiland gets the start tonight for Houston making his Astro's debut. Last season in Boston, Weiland was 0-3 7.66 ERA in 5 starts. Chipper's return should add some firepower to the Braves lineup hitting in the gaps of the big Minute Maid Park outfield. Factor in Hanson's past dominance vs Houston with a possible nervous Weiland's debut and the lean is the Braves to finally chalk one up in the win column. Source: ESPN MLB Preview.
