Did you read this article? The entire world is talking about trayvon being shot due to the fact he was wearing a hoodie!

The lady in this story says she saw a man in a hoodie leaving the scene of a triple murder!

Makes you wonder if there is not some relevance to the stereotype!

I mean, if you've ever spent 5 minutes in a US city you'll see hoodies though...

But either way, I don't see how they're related? In the story you posted, someone in a hoodie DID something horrible apparently... Whereas the Trayvon thing is about a kid who might have done something wrong, maybe, but either way, probably shouldn't have been shot by the moron guy with a gun. I'm not trying to say thugs don't look like thugs - cause they usually do... I just don't see what equating a guy who committed triple murder, to a dead teenager gets you?

Your missing the point, I am not comparing the 2 crimes. I am saying that the hoodie plays an important part in both!

who knows what happened in this case. zimmerman might have been over zealous and asked him what he was doing in the neighborhood, the kid could have told him to fuck off and mind his own business. the guy tells him he called the cops and tries to stop him from leaving, they get into a fight as a the kid tries to push through him and zimmerman grabs him. they start struggling and hitting each other, zimmerman ends up shooting him.

either way, if hes guilty or innocent, i wonder if there will be rioting if he gets off

Yeah I mean I like wearing hoodies myself because they are comfortable and not as confining as wearing a coat and I am no criminal.

But I also have friends who I grew up with who ARE criminals and that's all they wear!

So people who commit crimes where hoodies and people who dont commit crimes where hoodies? The same thing could be said for many different clothing items. I think these 2 cases are totally unrelated

The hoodie was just a red herring. The simple fact is a in the eyes of other races a black male is an enigma and can be a frightening presence if you don't personally know the black person you come across. If there is a majority white neighborhood with maybe two black residences and a white resident sees a black male walking around that they never have seen before they will get curious and wonder if he is up to no good. While a white stranger walking through the same neighborhood will be able to infiltrate the area without a neighbor giving it a second thought. Does it mean the white person is a bigot? Of course not. Just that white people are conditioned to be cautious in the presence of black strangers whereas with white strangers they let their guard down.

I am black and for my race I accept partial blame for our people not being as positive as a race as we possibly could be. In what we excel at is athletics and entertainment but we lack in terms of having careers like doctors, dentists, plumbers, repairmen, technicians and what not or being small business owners like running our own printing company or temp agencies or carpet and tile people. We also have no niche in the workforce like other races where we are accustomed to being seen. The Hispanics do the house cleaning, landscaping and car washes. The Asians have the cleaners and nail shops. While all of the other races that make up America have their little piece of action in the gas stations, 7-11 type stores, radio shacks and such. But with black people there isn't one type of business that they are proned to own or operate. So when people do see black people in society we are on your TV either playing ball or singing or on the news being reported as committing a crime.

In reality your average black criminal doesn't target white people to be a victim of their crimes. Their crimes are mainly being inflicted on their own kind. In the black and asian community you are brought up to not talk to the police so if a black person robs a black person the least of his worries is having the police looking for them. Where as if a black person was to rob a white person you better believe that white person is going to the police to help apprehend a black criminal from off of the streets.

In order for us to begin to put an end to the race games between blacks and whites. Black people need to not be so angry when approached by white officer and just be friendly and cool. Don't get all angry and loud if a white person confronts you or acts scared, try easing their fears instead of playing into them. They also need to realize that our appearance speaks volume and to put an end to the gold teeth, the braids and the clothing that can be also identified as gang wear and dress more generic if you don't want to be perceived as a threat. At the same time white people need to sit back and think of all the criminal activity that affected them, their loved ones and their friends that 9 times out of 10 it was somebody of their own race that did it to them. Black people didn't stiff them on rent, rape their women, break into their houses, keyed their car, smack around their daughters or bullied their sons. Every race has their fair share of criminals just don't think every black stranger you see is always committing a crime in progress.
