Nope. Been betting against the dream teams and making money. Old capping rule still in play in all sports "Bet against dream teams early on, you'll get excellent value as Dream Teams are public plays."

"Any team can beat another team on any given day"

No sport does this cliche fit better than baseball and I don't believe it's necessarily the easiest sport to beat as some claim...

Never have been able to have much success handicapping baseball on a daily basis for the regular season. Strictly recreational for me. The playoffs, however, are another matter.

I think it's easier. You look for an underdog and if there is a chance it can win you take it. Favorites are a waste of time.

blindly betting dogs in the first month of the season has yielded a significant return, anywhere between 3 percent and 28 percent depending on the season. This is a statistic backed up by research, as three economics professors performed a study that included a decade-long sample with thousands of games.

The research suggests that the MLB betting market is at its most inefficient in the first two weeks of the season, and then progressively becomes more efficient afterward. The inefficiency favors underdog bettors.

From ESPN.com:

Since 2004, if you blindly bet $100 on every favorite in the month of April, you would be down $26,000, an average of $3,250 per year. If you flipped that and blindly bet every ‘dog, here’s the year-by-year breakdown:

2004: $2,000
2005: $800
2006: $300
2007: $100
2008: $3,200
2009: $2,600
2010: $800
2011: $3,200

I’ll add it up for you: It’s a net of $13,000.

Through the first week of the season, dogs were 31-28 against favorites for a net profit of roughly 10 units.

Favorites made a comeback this past week, though, and while they aren’t ahead in units won, they have an overall 60-47 record (56 percent) against dogs.

The best in baseball is when you bet on a -280 favorite and it rains hard in the 2nd inning and have a lengthy rain delay. Then the -280 pitcher you bet doesn't go back on the mound, now you have -280 on a long reliever. you never know in bases. Plus the starters go no more than 6 or 7 innings today, not like years ago where they went 8 sometimes 9 even in a 4-3 game.

baseball is always challenging, and the relief pitching seems to get worse and worse every year.

you need to be on top of the weather for games without a roof. always check weather.com radars if there's even a hint of rain for the game.
