Thank you Rays. I would take them Saturday, but Colon has been sharp and Tampa's offense is due for an off game.

May 5

2 units on Pirates ML: Mike Leake is a mess, a head case and is likely to be dropped from the rotation after this next dismal start (I hope). Pitchers need to have a consistent, disciplined mindset to get through each inning. Leake, like Max Scherzer, can't decide what to do from pitch to pitch, and both of them are always fiddling with their mechanics. McCutcheon should be back for the Pirates. McDonald is a consistent, but unspectacular performer, and has a good bullpen to back him up. Reds lineup is a disappointment this year.
1 unit Pirates -1/2 first 5 innings

Baltimore: One unit ML . Red Sox should not be favored here. Their bullpen(and starters) is just plain bad. The lineup, other than Ortiz, is mostly right-handers and Hammel should do well against it. A. Gonzalez has hit poorly(4-23) vs. Hammel. Aaron Cook is the Sox version of a desperate starter. Hard to believe this game has one crummy ex-Rockies pitcher vs. another crummy ex-Rockies pitcher. Hammel seems to have refined his command; Cook and the Sox bullpen should get hit around. And Balt. bullpen is looking much improved. Besides, this Orioles team is hitting better than the Red Sox. Red Sox bettors are paying for their reputation and Fenway mojo.

SF Giants: One unit -1 (first 5 innings). Brewers might be missing Braun again, and even with him, they are one of the worst hitting teams in the majors. Baumgarner has great command for such a young guy. Randy Wolf's surprising stats: 26 innings, 38 hits, 20 ER, .336 avg. against- ouch!

Yankees: One unit RL. Don't like to take the Yankees, who are usually overpriced like the Red Sox, , but Kuroda's splitter is working. Royals 1-11 at home. Paulino's 1st start and a 8+ ERA vs. Yanks

Washington / Phillies : one unit on the under 6.5. Day game after a night game, 2 very solid starters, 2 good bullpens. And 2 lineups that have struggled hitting at times. Phillies seem to swing at everything, Nats middle of the lineup is awful.

ATL/Colorado: One unit on the over first 5 innings. Did ever notice how teams score early in Coors Field when mediocre pitchers are going? Both teams have decent bullpens so I'm hoping to get a number around 5 for the first 5 innings. Moyer and Minor both have potential for blowing up. And both teams can hit well.

Really like all these plays. Pitt line has alot of value in it, considering how well they have played at home and how solid Mcdonald has been.

I also played Seattle (Square play) pretty large on both ML and RL. Marquis is awful and the Twins offense is worse. They only won last night due to an error by the Seattle pitcher. Dont make it a habit of playing huge favs, but i see value as this line should be -250 at least, in m opinion. Curious to know your thoughts.

Good luck tomorrow!

I follow Seattle since I live in Portland (no baseball here). They are much improved hitting team, and young, but don't know how to win. Still this Mariner team can at least score some runs- last year's couldn't. On their recent road trip though, they seemed to outplay teams and still lose. King Felix vs. Marquis is a great matchup for Seattle and Felix will feel it's his responsibility to break the losing streak. I might bet small on the RL and 1st 5 innings -1/2. In fact I will.

Good luck to you too.

Really like the under 23.5 (H+R+E) on the Phils/ Wash. game. Two quality bullpens though a little used from last night's extra inning game. One unit.

Orioles' Hammel is dealing today. This one looks like a winner. Got the 5 inning too, sorry I didn't post it.

Also, helps that Aaron Cook is batting practice. He was toast in Colorado and just shows how desperate Bosox are for pitching.

Sorry. My totals have sucked. Nats are hitting Worley and bullpen much better than expected.

In Action…… Thanks for checking. SF was a push. I also lost 1 unit Phils/ Wash under H+R+E. Seattle was a 1/2 unit ML and 1/2 unit RL, but didn't specify. That makes it a 5-3-1 day, +2 units. YTD: 23-13, + 17 units

Not questioning your record but San Fran reads -1(1st 5innings). I considered that -1/2 cause my book dont offer -1 for first 5 innings but that was actually a ML play and it pushed? cause score was 1-1

Just want to make sure I understand when your posting for example in post today you have texas and boston -1 are those ml plays?

Thanks

Even if SF was a -1 and not ML (which I didn't catch as I took on ML for 1st 5and got the push) , I still see 6-3. I think you are confusing record keeping with units...just because you bet something for less, doesn't change the record itself....you just win less units.

My post above shows the 6 wins...you don't get 1/2 a win...you get 1/2 a unit in your unit record not your win record....Just don't want to see you selling yourself short.

Again, if I am missing something someone point it out but I don't get this at all and I have been doing this for quite a while.
