sorry i wasn't around before to give any insight.
i usually will only play dogs or -115's because i base my picks on value more than straight up stats. usually i cannot play my most of my picks because they are too chalky.
my spreadsheet is at work right now (for actual numbers). but here is what i use:
visiting team %scored and %allowed (overall) %scored and %allowed (on road)
home team %scored and %allowed (overall) %scored and % allowed (at home)
visiting pitcher %allowed overall and on the road
home pitcher %allowed overall and at home
batting average of the 1-4 hitters of each team vs. the opposing pitcher in their careers
experience & knowing which pitchers consistently are great or terrible in the 1st innning
gut feeling
dumb luck, which i've had a lot of over the past few years. lol
