I'll just go ahead and say it...I don't think Blake Griffin is as good as people think he is

Now let the bashing begin.

Each time he has the ball in his hand I'm actually happy if I'm a Memphis fan. The guy can jump and dunk and that's cool and all but he needs some serious development.

He can't score with any consistency over a bigger defender. He can't score with consistency over a more athletic player and he has no game outside of three feet. Defense? Pretty suspect.

He's good for ESPN but needs to improve big time. He's young though and has a ton of promise. Wish him luck.

And oh by the way, Zach Randolph's old ass is handling him just fine when he's in the game. Yes, the same Zach Randolph that gets about six inches off the ground these days.

Agree...fundamentally terrible like most guys who have gotten by on freakish athleticism...low post moves severely lacking...but definitely a fun player to watch

Never thought of it that way but you make a great point. And they both are shitty free throw shooters as well.

Griffen is more talented offensively than Howard. And will more than likely get better. But you can tell there is a ceiling there.

Amare Stoudemire = Blake Griffen. Another good comparison.

Agree. You put a guy like Kevin Garnett during his prime on B. Griffin and he might not score a single point.

Don't get me wrong, he's fun to watch for sure but I might take Luis Scola over Griffin. Maybe even David Lee.

This is great i got into with a few friends they all thought he was a top 5 PF i was in shock one cuz i think he's the most over hyped player I've ever seen. He has no post moves all he can do is back down and try to dunk over guys and catch alley oops. People actually leave him WIDE open outside of 10 feet. The guy literally can't do anything but dunk the ball and he's a garbage rebounder too who doesn't play D.

There reply was he's gonna learn to shoot and develop a post game.
OK he could develop a post game outside of turn and dunk over guys but shooting wise no fucking chance he's 23 or whatever if he hasn't learned how to shoot a fucking basketball at all he's not going to.

And no way you can compare amare to blake. Amare can hit down jump shots all over the court blake cannot at all people don't even guard him and he still bricks everything

Yep - he's just an insane athlete with size playing hoops - still laughing when people said he would be a better PF than the great Tim Duncan

He needs to learn how to hit his free throws and develop a jump shot otherwise he is just a mediocre player that has mad hops. Once he loses his hops he will be nothing. Not that he is much now. He hasn't enough skill or a jumpshot to contribute anything once he loses his jumping ability.

Barkley got all over the fact Griffin only had one rebound at halftime. Shack reminded him there were still 24 minutes to go. "He's on pace for two," Barkley said.
Think he ended up with five.

You are right. Amare can hit the face up 15-18 foot jumper.

The angle I was coming from in comparing the two: They are both freak athletes. They both are explosive jumpers and dunkers. They both are suspect defensively. They both are limited down low offensively.

Blake is a better rebounder. Amare a better shooter.

And of course when making the comparison, you have to look at Amare as a young player. Not the almost broken down one you see today.

Gotta give Griffin credit for coming back so strong from that knee injury though.
But you just wonder when its gonna happen again.

The bright side is this duo of Paul and Blake are giving Clippers fans some hope.

blake is out of control most of the time. not great a setting up his own shot. reminds me of amare sometimes. great in the pick and roll and great at dunking the ball. cp3 sure helps him look a heck of a lot better
