He has a cleft palate and no eyes. He's not going to be a vegetable.

He's going to laugh and cry and love and enjoy food and enjoy life. Why prevent him from all those things because the mother doesn't want to be inconvenienced?

If I were in her shoes, I wouldn't have considered aborting either. This isn't a religion thing. This is a being a parent thing. I had this discussion with my wife when we found out she was pregnant - no matter what could of happened to our child we were not going to consider abortion - from the moment I knew he was there he was "ours". It wasn't like there was no attachment till he was here - in fact, far from it. I honestly cannot believe some of you...this kid will probably have a great life - its not like he is a vegetable! So he has a deformity, big fucking deal? You don't think plastic surgery won't be able to help the guy in 20 years? Besides, there is way more to life than your appearance - it doesn't mean he cannot be productive.

Pain and suffering? These are assumptions. He seems to be awfully loved to me...has a great set of parents and the mother is in law school. He is already ahead of a lot of folks if you ask me.
