Texas ML. Two units
Texas -1. Two units. Yes, my biggest loss recently was taking Darvish against the Tribe. But they're hot, and Darvish did pitch well. In fact, I still think he is one of the top 5 pitchers in the AL, or will be soon. Velocity with movement, great variance of speeds, and a variety of pitches to keep hitters guessing. Like King Felix, except with slower breaking pitches. This game looms big with CJ Wilson returning, whom always pitched better away from Arlington than at home- of course it is a hitter's park. But I think Darvish can match or better him for composure, the Rangers offense is far superior, and the Angels have 6 blown saves. Playoff atmosphere and the Rangers will be up for it(and at home). CJ was also not as good a playoff pitchers as a regular season pitcher. ML at -137 now on 5 Dimes. Good deal, I say. Also have a small bet on the RL- no units.
Seattle ML. Felix has always gotten up for Yankee Stadium games. He's a gamer. Mariners are hitting much better this year( 5 out of 6 vs.Detroit, that never happened last year), and hope to catch Yanks on a let down after the big Tampa series. Kuroda has slipped slightly this year(and last year), and at 37 maybe it's age. One unit.
Cleveland. ML. Can't believe Indians are underdogs here. At this point in the season, Red Sox are still overpriced, and Indians underpriced. Don't like Ubaldo very much, but Bucholz has been so dreadful, maybe he's injured. Indian bullpen has been golden. And the Tribe knocked around Beckett, can they do it again? Sox lineup is no longer feared. One unit
Oakland. ML. One unit. Tigers have struggled against soft tossers like Milone. A's have played better in recent 2 weeks, and Porcello is inconsistent. Not good career stats vs. A's. Detroit is also overpriced, as their lineup is struggling for the most part. Even after they score a lot of runs one night, seem to not score the next game.
Toronto. Again. Drabek is probably Toronto's 4th best starter, but other than one bad start, has pitched well. Blackburn never has a "good" start, maybe so-so, but god, is he only starting because the Twins have no other options? Maybe this is his last start after he gets bombed. Bottom half of Twin lineup is unrecognizable, and hits badly too. Mauer is not quite the same, and well… as I stated in yesterday's post, the Twins are awful from top to bottom. -1/2 first 5 innings for one unit.
Cubs. One unit. Garza can stifle this underachieving Brewer lineup. Randy Wolf has given up 47 hits in 32 innings. Ouch. -1/2 first 5 innings for 1 unit.
Maybe one more tomorrow. Good luck.
