Strange golf course. You never know who will do well and who won't. Which makes any player a tough bet. There never has been a repeat winner. And Tiger and Mickelson have only won it once. Even Nicklaus never won at the Players!
I was going by what announcer Miller said this afternoon. He was obviously wrong, so for here on out I may have to Google anything he states as fact. One thing I will say is that tournament has had an odd group of winners over the years, mixed with the greats. Mark Hayes, Craig Perks, Jodie Mudd, Henrik Stenson, Tim Clark have all pretty much been one hit wonders on the tour. It's still a weird course. The winners of that tournament have finished everywhere from +1 to -24. I'm guessing that some of that difference in scoring has to do with the winds, and the 17th hole.thought he won three of the first five and the tournament didn't even start till 74 after Nicklaus great years

Tiger isn't winning a major anytime soon, probably not ever.
I'm beginning to think Tiger's one win this year was an abberation. He hasn't been consistent at all with his irons. At the level that he's playing right now, in order for him to have any chance in these majors, he's going to have to hope the top players like Bubba Watson, McElroy, Mickelson, Mahan, Fowler etc. all play bad. And that's not likely to happen.
He appears like he's hitting his irons even worse now than he did in that tournament. The problem with playing on these tough courses is you have to be precise with your approach shots or your dead in the water. The way Tiger compresses the ball with the new swing, he can't get his yardages right. I've even seen him hit some errant wedge shots. And that's never good.the pro Tiger crowd here scoffed at me when I originally posted that Arnies tourrnament was the " Perfect Storm " for Tiger. weak field, no competition in last rd, no 4-6 ft putts under pressure, and a course he knows very well with past success.. that post is now becoming more mainstream thinking here
