No line on 2 games I'm interested in???? White Sox are at -115 on Vegas web sites, but no play on online books. What gives?
If Sale goes vs. Hochevar, it looks like a classic mismatch of pitchers. Sale is the ace and closer of the Sox (how can that be? In one week, Sale will have been deemed the closer, giving up 1 unearned run, then placed back in the rotation as their future #1). Hochevar's slider has flattened out causing his whole repertoire to be straight and flat. Last 2 starts has unbelievable stats- 6 innings, 19 hits, 16 runs and only 2 Ks. Usually that will get you booted from the rotation, but what other options does KC have? None. Chisox hitting a little better of late and at home- hope I get anywhere near to -115. 2-3 units.

CLOSER? Nope. Only reason he was put in the Cleveland game was because of extra innings. Take my WHITE SOX in this one! We will sweeeeeeeeeeeeeep the Royals.

Finally there's a line on the Chisox game, but it has climbed up to -165. This is steep, but I'm still all over it. A complete contrast in starters. Both young, one(Hochevar) has lost his confidence and might be sent out to AAA with another bad start. Now Sale has been told to throw less of his signature pitch, his slider- to relieve strain on his elbow. This could make him less effective. But I like his intensity and think he'll pitch well enough to best Hochevar. As of now, my plays are:
One unit, White Sox -1
One unit White Sox - 1/2 (first 5 innings)
One unit Chisox/ KC -over 4, first five innings. This is at -135

The White Sox line is a little lower. Hmmm.

One unit on SF/ Arizona- under 8. Arizona's hitting has not been up to their usual standards. SF is even worse. I know Arizona's ballpark is a hitter's park, but Cahill has dominated SF over the years, and Cain has been filthy good in last 5 starts- 39 innings- 7 ER, 36 Ks/ only 7 BBs. Sf bullpen is also tough. Will have to hope Cahill can get through 7 so the Arizona bullpen doesn't pitch too much. Still, with 4 Giant hitters on the DL, I think they can muddle through. Cahill has been getting a lot of ground balls with his sinker- I just don't see this being a HR kind of game.

One unit Yankees team total- over 5 (-130) . The Yankees have bashed Felix and David Price this week, and both guys were killing it up until then. Many of the Yankees are getting hot. Noesi has been only good vs. poor hitting teams- Oakland early in the season and the hapless Twins. -130 is steep, but the Mariner middle relief might also give up a 1-3 runs.

One unit on Jays-1. The Twins managed to squeak by the Blue Jays last night with 7 runs on 7 hits, thanks to Drabeks' wildness. The Twins seem to be giving up on the season trying different minor leaguers here and there, looking ahead to 2013. PJ Walters is a soft tosser, topping out at 88 MPH. Has a good change-up, that has worked well on minor leaguers, but not on MLB hitters. Gives up there long ball. Hutchinson is another good young Toronto pitcher. Young, but will give them a great starting rotation in the near future. Batista homered last night- is he finally warming up? Anyways, Blue Jays have the definite lineup edge, especially with all these young guys in the Twin lineup.

Don't know what to do with Texas game. Can't believe CJ Wilson will start after all of those warm up pitches last night, and actually pitching to a few batters in the game. Harrison is easily the worst Ranger pitcher. No units, but I'm guessing over 5 in first 5 innings . Don't think CJ will last long, and Hamilton is SO hot. The pressure is off the other hitters.

One unit Baltimore ML. They should be favored here. Matusz has only pitched against good hitting teams this year, and The Rays, while a timely hitting team, are not really hitting that well. Matusz still has the potential to be the Oriole ace of the future, and I'm thinking the good coaching now of the Orioles will get him there (or close). Moore, the young phenom, has not pitched well so far. Baltimore has the bullpen edge. Nice come from behind victory last night. Orioles are just a different team this year. Until they ran into the Texas buzz saw, were playing very well all around.

I have not seen this before. He warmed up last night, pitched to a few batters in the first, and then never returned. Williams pitched. Usually teams wait a day or two before sending a pitcher out again . ???

I have a small one on the RL too, but I think a better bet is -1. Just in case Sale's elbow flares up.

CJ threw about 20 pitches and then there was a 2 hour rain delay and he never returned....he had given up a run and left with the bases loaded

One unit over 4 on LAD/ Colorado- first 5 innings. Nicasio has been dreadful his last 5 starts. 27 IP, 38 hits, 6 HRs, 11 BBs. Harang got shelled twice last year by the Rockies, and has not done very well to start the season- too many walks, not one outing that has really shined. Both of these pitchers give up their run in the first 6 innings, and rarely see beyond the 5th or 6th inning. Even though Dodger Stadium is known for its low scoring games, this number looks very good. Besides, both teams hit fairly well.

Chris Sale is definitely not himself. He must have an elbow problem or is not throwing his slider. We can hope Hochevar is equally bad. If you played the over- first 5, it's going to hit.
