One of the things that we do as bettors is overvalue or undervalue teams based on past reputations or records, or pre-season expectations.

Off the top of my head, the glaring failures to this point in the season are Boston, Anaheim, and Philly. Teams surprisingly better than anticipated might include Baltimore, Washington, and the Mutts, I mean Mets.

The linesmaker can be way off at this point in the season based on how teams are actually performing. Of course the linemaker is only reflecting the sentiments of us, the bettors. The thing is, as bettors, we need to look at lines as a true reflection of how a team is actually performing, not past perceptions or anticipations. When we do that we find value. Finding value is the only way to win at this game. Both favorites and dogs CAN have value. It's our job to find it.

Win totals. Which teams are surprising you? (creating value)

Hope this helps someone. Weigh in with your surprise teams. Will they turn things around? Good luck.

THE Cubs are going to pick it up. Withing 3-4 years Theo Epstein will have them in the World Series so there is confidence behind there play.
