One unit on Detroit/ Oakland- under 3.5 for first 5 innings. Verlander, after a couple of so-so starts, should return to form in Oakland, a definite pitcher's park- where every foul ball is a potential out. Jarrod Parker is #26 on the 100 of MLB prospects and is showing it- pitching very well in Boston and vs. Toronto. 13.2 innings- 3 ER, though has had some walk issues. Cespedes might be out again- don't know.

more to come...

One unit on NYY/ Seattle- over 10 (-120). Millwood is in trouble vs. this hot Yankee team. I know the Mariners are biding their time until they can get someone ready to replace him in the rotation. The Yankees are going to treat this start by Pettitte as a "try out your stuff" kind of outing. It's a perfect opportunity with Millwood going. They can still win and give up quite a few runs. The Mariners can load up right-handed hitters for this game.

One unit on Cleveland ML. Masterson has pitched well over the last 2 years vs. Boston, the team that traded him. Keeps the ball down well, and backed by a superior bullpen. Bard seems to be less suited to start than to relieve. His overpowering fastball works in a 1 innings relief job, but can be timed better over a start. Also has had control issues. Has a 8.64 ERA vs. Tribe. Indians are just a team that plays each inning like it's their last, Sox still overrated.

One unit on STL -1. Braves are playing well, but have never seen Lynn before, who going back to last year, has to have one of the most impressive bunch of stats of any MLB pitcher. Cards were also hitting very well until this series. They'll likely hit better here- Hanson has not been getting his Ks as in earlier seasons. Also, Braves have had their poor hitting games as seen in losing 2 out of 3 to Cubs and Phillies in last few weeks. Just think Cards want this game more.

Phillies RL. Using a football term, this game is almost a must win for the Phils. They are falling behind the pack, and Hamels will pitch like last Sunday- as if it's a big game. He can hit too. Padres have had no luck vs. him. I think also Suppan has been scouted and is going to finally give up a few runs. One unit.

Phils one unit first 5 innings -1/2

Agree, and Tigers have struggled at times against lesser pitchers, like Millone and mediocre Mariner pitchers.

One unit on KC/ Chisox- over 4 , first 5 innings. Haven't been winning these lately, but both pitchers have had control issues in recent starts. Both have been hit hard also. Humber seems to have been spoiled by his perfect game- or things are evening out.

Final play: Paid -153 for this, but under 9, Texas/ LAA. Good pitching beats good hitting in most cases. Weaver and Feliz( both pitching at the top of their game) , very strong bullpen (Texas), and the fact that Weaver may not need much of a bullpen since he goes deep into games- makes 9 a very nice number. One unit.

Yes, it has been. 2-5 with one pending. Will have to stop taking those 5 inning overs. They're killing me.

Basilesox- Not using a spread sheet. Using ML, -1 or RL based on the situation. -1 seems like a good way to get the juice down, while risking a push. In situations of good pitching for both teams, it seems like a better play than RL.

fred, very few sportsbooks offer -1 as a alternative so to get there you must place aprox. 1/2 of of the desired amt. on the ML and the other 1/2 on the -1 1/2 RL.

You cant just do half and half.. You basically have to risk as much on the RL, as you would win on the ML winner. So a one run win gives you a push. I was able to do it, but i had a sweet spreadsheet back in the day. You could type in the ML and RL numbers and how much you wanted to risk or win and it would give you the exact amounts to bet. I found it here on RX so was seeing if anyone still had it. Just saves time from figuring it out every time.
