Since there are those that can start a thread simply because Tiger shoots a 68 , I'm pleased to start a thread for the golfer that wins the Player's Championship. A great win for a great golfer and a great guy. Kuchar doesn't throw his clubs after a bad shot, He doesn't Cuss and swear at every bad turn of events, He doesn't glare at the fans and I haven't read any articles about how many mistresses He has on the side. It's easy to like the guy because He seems to always be having fun and wearing a smile. He just raked in 1.7 Million by winning this awesome tournament ! :103631605

Whenever I see this guy, I remember him playing as an amateur in the US Open about 10 years ago... He had his dad caddying and whenever he would make a good shot, his dad would start jumping around cheering and high-fiving people. He really pissed off some of the pros who were paired with him (especially Justin Leonard). He's probably a good kid, but that image always sticks in my mind.

Well We must remember that Kuchar was 0nly 19 when He was playing in the 1998 U.S.Open, so I think He deserves a little slack. I'd hate to be judged on how I acted or things I did when I was in my Teens... How about you ? I think He has come a long way and has become a real fan favorite. I know He's one of my favorites now.

Really ? What it tells me is that fans like you are slow to realize that Tiger is no longer the King of golf. The PGA is far from dead...... Maybe for you because you seem to actually think Tiger is the PGA so I guess for you it is indeed dead. For me and a lot of other fans, It's better than ever. I read that earlier this year new TV ratings and attendance recordes were set and Tiger wasn't even playing. So please explain how that could happen ? Tiger playing and in the mix will no doubt help the ratings but the PGA will be just fine. There are so many new young Stars out there like Rick Fowler that it's a shame there are fans like you that only see the PGA as Tiger Woods. Get over it !

GTC- you seem to have something against the tour, it's like you don't want it to be relevant. The PGA Tour is no where near dead. Yes, Tiger gave it a huge boost when he was making his run, but the tour is as good as ever right now. There are new sponsors that are putting their brand out there with this group of 20 something year olds. You might think its dead because the same person isn't winning every week. There is much more parody on tour right now because better athletes are playing golf nowadays. And yes, Tiger is partly responsible for that. There are a lot of great golfers on tour right now versus just a Tiger like it was when he ripped off all his victories. I don't think Tiger will return to even 75% of what he was unless he has a huge mental overhaul.

This is the greatest time in history for the PGA tour. Much better than it was 15-20 years ago before Tiger Woods and this big influx of athletic young golfers came on the scene. We've had some great golf this year, and some incredible finishes. The game is back to being a sport again.

if its as good as it ever was, why dont we have more people participating in this thread? this is one of the big events on the tour, and the thread had 1 reply until i correctly stated that the tour is irrelevant without tiger in the hunt.

Might have something to do with the fact that it was Mother's Day yesterday, and forum traffic seems to be down across the board right now because its not football season. But for you to think that the tour is irrelevant because Tiger is sucking hind tit shows me that you are ignorant when it comes to golf anyways.

we both know the thread would be 3 pages if tiger won, with shot by shot updates on the final 9.

key word if That's the whole point you're not facing up to..... Tiger isn't the King anymore and there are a lot of players coming up that are going to beat him on a regular basis. BTW The thread started last Friday about Tiger hasn't exactly been eating up a lot of pages either ! Why ? Simple Tiger isn't winning much lately. How many golfers shot a 68 or better in the Champions in 1 of their rounds ? I'm sure it was quite a few and I'm not going to waste my time checking it out. If the 68 had moved Tiger into the lead, I could see somebody starting a thread but He was still way off the lead. People are just not being realistic that it will never be that easy for Tiger to dominate this group of Golfers. These guys are really Good and they will keep getting even better. They are young ! Youth does have it's advantages you know. I'm 70 years young so trust me...... Time takes it's toll !

Tiger never got the pages of threads in the RX, even when he was winning all of his majors. He only started getting attention here after he got the shit beat out of him by his wife, and when he started his comeback. With all of the controversy now surrounding him, all it takes is two posters disagreeing with each other to make 10 pages of posts. That's ALL it is about.

You just hit the nail on the head. People love freak shows ! How many comments would a Tonya Harding like event draw ? I remember that fiasco well and you couldn't view anything but that on your TV or newscasts.
