Dont go to any of those free credit score commercial places or anything like that. Their is one legit site that i believe the gov offers that I learned about in my fraud class

I am not sure if this trick still works but if you call the 3 credit agencies automated line and press the prompts to obtain a copy of your credit report. One prompt will ask you if you have been declined credit in the past 30 days because if you have your credit report will be free if you haven't been denied credit then you will have to pay for your report. If you say yes it will then ask you to verify your address info and mail one out to you. The reason why this trick worked was because companies are always running your credit automatically and sending you out the pre-approved line of credits in the mail so the credit agency just assume it was one of those companies that denied you credit.
I haven't done this trick in about 8 years so I am not sure if it still works or not. But it is worth a try.

the score there is 20 pts higher than if i get a 3 credit report + 3 credit scores thru experian's site which gives credit score for : experian (off by 21 pts), transunion (off by 24 points), equifax (off by 28 points)
why is creditkarma off by 20+ points ? i don't know but it is a big difference. so while it's free, it's not as accurate
